Iiiiii personally this is my personal opinion but stomps and like insane losing streaks stop at ranks where people realize they have more control over there own games.
Not saying people can’t still blame your own teammates or that the higher rank you go this just magically completely stops.
But at ranks where people like even phathomize the concept of “What can I do differently” and you develop a more internal mind set they stop to a degree.
Oh I can flank here, I can pick this and that hero, maybe I shouldn’t of done X and should if done Y instead.
Bad “Stomps” still happen I get my fair share but not to such insane and abusrd degrees as what I hear and not enough to where “I” would go on an insane losing streak unless I play weekend games where everyone seems like there trying to throw as hard as possible.
Soooooo hmmmm probably plat?
I get it the push bot has made it to there check point with yall having 0% buttt tbh I just start flanking at this point or I switch to X hero orrrrr if I really feel like actually winning I just start shot calling (coms probably have a huge effect as well).
Overwatch has like a looooottt of different things you can do like a looootttt of different things, sometimes it can also come down to “I could just start hitting my shots”.
I don’t know about them stopping the higher up you go
But they do have more to do with game time decisions than matchmaking

No they’ll never completely stop it still happened in 1 as well.
But a lot of what you do will determine the final outcome.
Thats what my post says yes.
Considering I know people in GM and T500 who complain about losing streaks, this is definitely untrue.
I honestly think it’s a minority of people who earnestly believe they did nothing to contribute to a loss in every game. Most of the time a loss is a team effort, but it’s also true that there will always be at least one thing you could have done differently to sway the game’s outcome.
Just reiterating for the people in the back

1-sided stomps happen often because the Match making to this game prioritizes newly made accounts with No account data to be placed “head of the line” to Q first. IN order to appeal to players that it thinks are new to the game.
It really doesn’t work out for the better when they are grouped up with no endorsement rating and the game has zero player data to go off of.
With rapid account creation this causes that first major problem.
During “on peak” hours we should expect a match system to work on some baselines such as.
1 ) Remember our last 5 games from 24 hours ago and taking that outcome and reduce its expectation of our skill by 15% if we have not played in 4-12 hours. It should assume we are not “warmed up” for playing anymore.
2 ) The next thing it should do is have us play a match and record how bad we were stomped by the enemy team or if we won.
3 ) it then should come up with a % of the match as to how much we really contribute to it and then come up with a baseline number.
4 ) now, regardless of the margins for that match. it should make another match slightly greater if we win, and slightly less if we lose.
- That number should increase at most 2% if we win, or decrease by 10% if we lose.
5 ) When the next match plays out. If it goes to a total loss again. It should decrease by another 12% or if we win. by about 3.7% increase in the rating.
What this starts to set in motion is a system that is allowing us to adjust for slightly stronger opponents and start to rapidly fall if we are struggling. It means within 2-3 matches the system should be able to start adjusting.
Not where the present system is set at, which is roughly 16-20 matches before it figures out they are doing bad.

Stomps and losing streaks happen in every rank as far as I know and it is bad enough that the DEVs have had to commented on it. This is why they have the changes to the respawn times to help teams group up, the wide/narrow groups, and grouped players only playing with other groups. None of which has helped since S12 has been just as bad if not worse because of the rank reset lol.
When do stomps diminish?
they never do
You only get favored games in exchange; which are technically, of course, more stomps
The truth is that when you first sign into Overwatch, their sophisticated technology calculates your win/loss streak for the next 1 million games and then modifies every single game to match this calculation. The only way to overcome this is to play over 1 million games or drink bleach. It’s in the patent.
They do? They actually stop?
They diminish but never stop.
Blizzard literally posted metrics on their definition of 1sided matches. They didn’t say how that metric was devised, but what is indicated seems to show that prior to thie recent changes, 1sided matches were pretty uniform across the board.
Ironically, they were the least 1sided in plat/diamond which aligns with an earlier idea that plat/diamond was the rank people counter swapped the most. However, plat and higher after this group respawn is when it seems 1sided matches flattens out amost evenly between plat to gm.
WAIT I WAS RIGHT? I was guessing!
Well guessing based on experince so I formed a hypothesis I suppose.
Around GM+ and top 50-10 they have less stomps. Because 50/50MM will struggle to have enough players to create stomps chain.
Oh boy, another “every loss is your fault the matchmaker is totally fine and completely fair and balanced” post!
Did you… did you read the post?
Seriously how many of you guys immediately get in your feelings and dont like just read the post.

You will not believe how many players here believe that aim is the least important skill of all, especially when it is taken for granted at the highest ranks.
