When do bans reset?

Every time I queue for DPS, I have to wait >15min so sometimes I go do something else and forget I even wanted to play OW.

I remember a few weeks ago I got banned for 30min or so. Today it happened again and I was banned for 8 hours straight. That’s fine… the computer knows better.

But I’m wondering if next time it happens (regardless of how long it takes to happen again), will I be banned for 16 hours? Or does it go down at some point?

Next one is a season ban:)

I think you have to play 10 games without d/c:ing to move up a step in the punishment bracket, and then another 10 and so on if you’ve left multiple times without resetting the ban.

Someone is free to correct me if I’m wrong, cuz I’m not entirely sure of the numbers

Are you joking or are you saying that from 8 hours it goes to a season ban?

Season Ban

Once you play 10 games your punishment tier goes down 1 stage.

Leaving a match drops your SR by 50 (and 10 for other roles) but doesn’t effect your MMR. If you get season banned twice the second is a perm ban from comp. (it’s either 2 or 3 I’m not totally sure)

Thank you so much, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’ll be more careful.

Can I play qp games to reset the bans or do I need to play comp? Also is this info relevant to OW2?

Comp does not reset until the season is over. QP is the only one that resets your ban timer.

Not any more.

They made a change a few seasons back that the ban timer no longer resets with a new season.

So if you are one leave away from a season ban at the end of the season and then you decide to leave your first game in the new season, you’ll be banned for the entirety of the new season.

Even better. This stops the late season throwers from trolling.
