I must have missed it but when did brig get so strong. I don’t remember her getting buffed…She kinda feels like a free win at this point. Idk maybe it’s just me. Maybe it’s the armor changes

Is she? I dont see her being played other than to defend Juno’s squishy body while in dive, since Dive doesnt even need supports to set-up kills or sustain them, really.

Supposedly it is because she can pocket Junes and that is hard meta.
Brig was always quite strong if played properly (like Zenyatta). It’s just that a lot of Brig players believe they are baby Reinhardt. You could never be Reinhardt, baby!
Brig isn’t crazy strong, it’s just her time to shine ATM.
She’s definitely not a free win, it takes skill and discipline to play her well
I have a 55% win rate after like 8-9 hours. I hit old GM1 with her in earlier OW2 seasons, and hovered between GM4-GM2 since then. I have over 100 games on support (between her, Lucio, some Moira) and haven’t hit GM yet
I mean when you have a hero built to be in close range nerfed into being a pack mule and inspire bot, you are bound to get annoyed. Like the people that insist that Mei should be icy bootleg Hanzo and not a close range DPS.
Regardless, Brig is not really strong. She is a collateral pick to a meta she has no real input in.

Brig honestly feels stronger than Juno
I don’t feel like it’s so much that Brig herself has changed, it’s that the character pool I’m likely to run up against has. Recent times have seen an increase in the likes of D.Va, Winston, Sombra, etc. down where I play, and a decrease in Pharahs due to her -25 HP nerf.
I mean congrats I guess? Most people dont share that opinion unless they are part of the crowd that thinks that Brig doing anything that isnt dying or healbotting means she is OP and needs nerfs.
I more or less believe that Brigitte sucks. The only thing making her mildly useful was the Rally bug’s triumphant return. I am just saying that she does her job if you play properly. But her job is L A M E.
Honestly its more silly to me that the hero MADE to counter dive is so ineffective and nerfed at that job that her only viability rn is to enable it.

Brig was been a joke hero for most of the playerbase for years after her initial 6 months of nerfs, to the point some people considered her a troll pick below the Tracer Tiers. Brig was only played constantly in pro-play and GM/t500.
I guess that now that Tracer is a bronze to GM staple hero, Brig is better because despite all the constant nerfs she is still passable against Tracer. No point on worrying about the enemy Junkrat/Pharah/etc turning her into dust if those heroes arent really played a lot anymore and all Brig faces is hitscan sniperflankers.
Brig has been at least decent for all of OW2 just by virtue of being one the sturdier supports, but she was also a big winner from the S9 changes. She benefits from longer fights, her relatively big hitbox means people weren’t missing shots on her that much before = HP change is more meaningful, and Tracer/Sombra became more popular so she is a response tot hat.
At a high level she just has good synergy with Juno; Brig benefits more than other supports from Speed, while Juno is squishy and non-threatening and Brig is the best bodyguard.
Juno brig is hard meta regardless if dive is being played or not.
It started as a anti-dive thing. Juno speeds the dva and brig keeps the juno alive… but then dva dropped and people just realized “oh this comp is just unkillable regardless” so they kept playing juno brig.
I would rather just go Kiriko and pressure the Tracer. I do not even understand how Brigitte is supposed to counter Tracer because when I play Tracer into Brig, I just eat her alive. Usually I learn counterplay from what my enemies are doing and yet, they cannot do much to me when I am Tracer so I have no clue what is supposedly a counter.
Then why did my teammates call her a throw pick and proceed to throw, tell me to uninstall, tell me to self harm, and worse whenever I picked her earlier in ow2?
Like seriously, whenever I swapped to her the vast majority of the team would flame me for it, and the enemy team literally agreed with them because they said she was bad.

The truth about Brig is that Brig is deeply subpar in the tiers with actual DPS diversity because she was made to resist/counter very specific high rank threats while being weak to heroes like Junkrat and Pharah that plagued low ranks. In the tiers were Tracer/Widow and their adjacents arent going to comprise most of the DPS Brig will fight against, she is just bad and has no real purpose.
You can definitely win with her in low/mid ranks and specially now that Tracer has been made into a low ranks noobstomper… but to say ‘‘she has always been strong’’ is just some new level delusion. Brig spent years kidnapped by Tracer mains and pro-players.
