When are they going to do a long runing 6v6 Role Queue test?

As much as I like 6v6, Im tired of getting all DPS or Support picks off the start, being forced to go Tank and having no one else willing to help out. We need a proper 6v6 Role queue test finally to see how well it will do, not one run at the same time as other short lived live events to take away from proper testing. Seems they want to run every type except that…

It was the very first 6v6 test they did.

Unlikely. They already ran a trial last year and from they said, it wasnt very popular.

They did the QPRQ test at the end of last year, doesn’t look like we’ll be getting a Comp version. The way it looks right now is that 6v6 will probably stay as OQm2t. If it’s the case, I’d rather they normalized it across all OQ modes and finally got to balancing it.

On the other hand, keeping up with three different balance paradigms is going to be rough.

Probably never. Your thread pretty much states why. People don’t want to play tank as much as other roles. Having 5v5 role queue alongside 6v6 role queue all fighting for tanks to queue up.

Min1 Max3 was the first one, but I did forget they did do a short and proper 6v6 test as the 2nd test. Because it was buried under the first OW Classic and the Drives event for that season running at the same time.

That was the original plan people were mad and so they swapped. They did the 222 first instead.

Yea, but the current 6v6 OQ is just 10 times worse, I’ll sit through a few minutes queue vs getting a team of 6 supports with none wanting to swap.

What’s “few minutes” in your book? What if it’s more than that?

And that might be what you want. But it seems blizz doesn’t want both modes with role queue with limited tanks. Seems they would rather have quicker queues, and if people want a more structured mode, they can go to 5v5.

Which is sadly what Im gonna do from now on. Open queue is just shyt atm

Incorrect. 6v6 RQ (2-2-2) was the first test. They originally planned it to be the second one, but swapped it. Min1 Max3 was the second test.

I don’t know. It might not be until next year at the soonest.

Their main focus for there year seems to be Stadium and perk balance.

They already did it.
Around 9-10% of the playerbase was playing it consistently.

Keep in mind, 5v5 OQ quick play and comp is also 10% of the playerbase.
6v6 OQ comp alone was 20%.
So it’s pretty obvious why they went with OQ.

its absolute rubbish isnt it? I like playing tank, but sometimes I want to play something else and it seems that if I don’t pick tank nobody does and people are happy to roll out of spawn with all dps/support.

6v6 forced 222 = 12-20 min queues for non Tanks
Speedrun to kill the game because you also split queues even more, with Stadium.

Well, they need to at least add preferred roles to RQ then, cuz as it is I don’t plan to play it anymore. Back to fortifying the 5v5 numbers I guess because this version of 6v6 just aint it.

Hopefully never. RQ is one of the top 2 worst things ever forced in to this game.

OW1 was a 6v6 RQ test…worked out pretty well that i can remember.

What killed OW1 wasn’t RQ but years of next to no updates because they were working on OW2 content instead that never panned out.
