So I played with a Moira who went dps and whenever someone asked for healing she would say “no” and won’t heal at all.
Idk man when you pick a healer your job is to heal if you’re going to go dps then be a dps let someone else be that healer.
It was very weird and I found it funny when I said something about Moira not healing she got upset. I’m confused lol

I’ve very rarely encountered DPS only Supports, but when it happens it’s pretty frustrating.

It’s odd. Conversely, I really like Baptiste but I have a voice in the back of my mind that scolds me for not doing enough damage with him. Like, I feel like in order to play Bap at 100% value you also need to be getting those shots in which I’m just not very good at doing.

I just report for throwing, avoid and move on.
My guess it’s some no aim support player butthurt over their previous game and is DPSing bc tilted. They picked Moira because they can’t hit the enemy on anyone else.
Well for those players maybe they should play Zen since he is suppose to be dpsing and can just leave his healing orb on a team mate.
if you pick support ur job isn’t to just heal its to use ur cool downs aggressively to get an edge over the opponent and provide a lot of sustain for ur team

If they’re legit still trying (even to DPS only) then they are not throwing.

if you pick a healer and don’t heal, you are throwing. Doubly so in role queue.
Would you report a soldier who did nothing but use his health pack or a Brig who did nothing but shield and stun? I would because they’re throwing too.

Part of Moira’s kit is to dps (constantly).
Soldier’s heal is a CD which is an instant cast and forget. It would be blatantly obvious if he was just sitting there afk the rest of the time, and yes that WOULD be throwing.
Moira can constantly do damage, Soldier cannot constantly heal.

Yes, because his job is to deal damage, like how Moira’s is to heal. Moira’s damage is purely so she can fight off attackers (so she can survive and resume healing), building ult charge (so she can heal) or to regen her piss canister (to heal with it). A Moira playing like a frontline DPS and neglecting her healing duties is throwing.

When I play Moira and say “no” and won´t heal you and do dmg instead - it means, that I CAN´T heal you, cause my heal meter is empty. Maybe blizz should have make a specific voice lines for a support like “my heal meter is empty” or “my ress CD is on”.
It´s a support, not a healer. We are not healbots. I personaly hate, when support won´t heal on purpose and goes full dps, but I have way too much expiriences as a support main (and Moira main), that people yell at me “dps Moira” whenever I need to regain heal, meanwhile they happensto die. People should maybe take such things as an option, before they try to blame support.

Soldier can ONLY do one job.
I bet you also report the tanks that don’t switch to Reinhardt when you DEMAND they do too because YOU don’t think their pick works.

did she say no on coms or using premade lines (hello, group up, etc)?
maybe before that they were trying to heal but those asking were far out of position.
i hate getting asked for healing when people are far away or have a wall between us.
i dont really play mor that much but when I do I’m not fading over to someone to heal and I’ll focus on those who actually need it and play with me instead.
usually if someone refuses to outright heal at all there’s much more at play than just dpsing for the sake of dpsing.
i find it so rare that i encounter a dps healer im not usually annoyed when it happens bc theres always an good reason imo
I have the same issue with Bap. It’s all the more frustrating that I’ve put more hours in him than Moira, and yet I still do more damage and about the same amount of healing using her.

Generally I like to go for a 1:2 damage:healing ratio, but there are games where it’s just not possible. If I can’t as much as peek for getting one-shot, then I’m just going to stay behind cover and hope my healing’s enough.

Players almost always mislabel how Moira is intended to be played -or at least the only way she can find success. Moira has to do substantial DPS to have any remote value as a healer. Flat out. Moira, on a ladder climb, almost exclusively finds value playing a flanking DPS hero with self sustain, and who can toss some heals at her team if she has the opportunity or resource. That’s it. That’s how she can reliably win games and have any degree of agency. If she is run as a ‘main healer’ -particularly not in a rush comp-, she is going to struggle…but you can’t fault a player for playing 1/6 possible healers (since there are 2 per team), just because it’s not to your taste.
And as a support main, I get livid when people start furiously demanding heals, as any healer. I am clearly doing my best. If someone just sometimes taps the button? Fine, helpful! Politely asks for a quick check-in comms? Great! But the people who spam ‘I need healing’ after they die are the most obnoxious thing in the game, and they’re in every game and in every SR. We understand, we know our role. There is no, ‘we need damage/kill’ voice line to spam, but that’s your job too. If someone on my team starts being overly critical when it’s obvious we’re all trying to win, I also will say ‘no’ and just leave all comms. I’ll still do what I can in my kit and within my own power to win, but people who are not playing my hero do not understand everything going into play with what I am doing.
For the record, like I said, I’m a support main (GM) and I don’t particularly play much Moira because I prefer to win and she is trash…but that is still the argument for her. It’s like having a Ball as a tank; they can be helpful doing their own thing, but they aren’t the ‘traditional’ front line tank lineup. They find value elsewhere.
None of the supports are just ‘healers’. They all have to use other aspects of their kit to eke value. To climb, continue to gain SR, or exist in high SR, that’s doubly so. Lucio players have to make space and hunt down flankers, but then they get called ‘Reddit Lucio’. Moira players have to do damage and have a tremendously strong kit to finish and secure kills, but then they are ‘DPS Moira’. Ana players have amazing range and can help control high grounds, but if you miss a heal on a teammate, you’re too busy ‘DPSing’. Because those scenarios are obvious what the other players think a support should be doing, and what they actually have to do. It’s less obvious to your team when your McCree, who has the job of killing the enemy Pharah misses 20 shots on her. But if your Bap misses two healing shots on a DPS while they’ve got an ulting Genji on them in the background, they’re flamed instantly.
To sum it up; is Moira a good pick in any SR? No, her kit is terrible. But it’s especially bad to consider her a main healer. If you consider her more of a self-sufficient DPS/Support hybrid, and remember she has to be doing almost constant, consistent damage to use her kit, at least you’re realize what she is doing. Everyone gets games here and there where you have to work around bad picks from teammates; a Mercy OTP, attack Torb, do-or-die Bastion, and you just work around it. It’s not an impossible scenario at all.
