What's your headset audio mode?

So i have this HyperX revolver headset, that has the fob on the headset cord that has the volume for the mic, for the headset and the buttons for mic mute, dolby on/off, and some buttons for non dolby settings (bass/trebel/flat). Ive always played with the dolby button turn ON, but noticed, while it does give a more spatial surround (i.e. it sounds like you are IN the area), the directional isnt always as pronounced. If you turn the dolby button OFF, the spatial area sound goes away, and everything sounds less “realistic”, but it makes directional sounds MUCH more obvious.

Im curious if you all prefer to play with less sound detail, but better directional ability, or give up some of the directional sound to have better sound detail.

just curious.

i have the hyper x headset as well. i put it on the stand when I play overwatch after the whole perks addition thing. the game audio became too annoying so if I miss an ult or something… w/e.

until they revert all the audio garbage they have piled into the game. the game’s best played in silence.

my ears are sensitive anyway. I work as a seasonal subcontractor to tune pipe organs. I’d rather not have my ears bleed while playing this game, so i can keep my hearing sharp for tuning 3 and 5 rank MIXTURES on pipe organs without having that annoying “glass” in my ear from this game’s perverse audio environment.

The sound is really good in this game, you don’t have to mess with settings. I just use a cheaper Logitech wireless, and I even hear enemies above and under me lol. I have the volume ingame at like 40-50, because we use Discord to talk to each other. You can use spatial audio, but doesn’t really matter.

headset audio mode?
Headset?

Not sure what that even is but I use a pair of HD 600S.
I also listen to music on my pc.

I just play video games to have fun, so, since you are curious, I’d use better sound detail

(also I listen to music while I play and don’t use headphones, lol)

It’s very simple for me: turn off all external spatial enhancements like Dolby and turn on the ingame spatial audio (i think it’s also Dolby if i recall correctly). That’s what Blizzard themselves recommend and in this way you also prevent having multiple 3D audio mechanisms conflicting with each other.
