Maybe this was happening all along, but I’ve been running into Wrecking Ball players who just hook onto the highest point in the map and stay there for the entire game. Three of them I had to block and avoid this weekend alone in Ranked play. Is this some kind of streamer meme?

I misread the title as ‘troll balls’ and was really confused for a second.
As for the answer: sometimes you will just encounter a spate of players on a character they’re just not very good with. I had the same thing with doomfist players about a week ago.

Funny you mention this, OP. I had a Ball player today in QP who, for the most part, would roll up to the enemy team and just sit there.
I have no idea how we took the first round when we were 4v5ing.

I think he was rolling up to the enemy and emoting “hello”. I actually think he got that 2k damage by accident, from fireballing enemies he wanted to stand in front of and greet. 
Their Mercy was so close to outdamaging him. If only she’d gone all-in…

That’s not what’s happening, though. It’s a 0E, 0A, 0D Ball who hooked up on top of a tower near spawn, and then afking.
