I’ve been feeling really disappointed with ow recently so lets do something positive.

even thoughs she has lost a lot and isnt fun to play in 5v5 when she’s unhindered she is still so much fun. i fell in love with dva’s kit in 2016 release ow. just the fact that your a flying mech that can self destruct and then be resummoned and then fly and shoot so cool. i knew instantly that she was my favorite. off tanking on dva was also really fun and winston dva dive is amazing. nowadays I’ve tried lots of new characters but only queen and echo feel somewhat decent. ow1 dva was my fav and i cant wait to play her in not 5v5 again!
junk, like slow moving projectiles and big booms, the ricochets are also very nice and trapping ppls is so good even tho its75% luck 25% them not looking
queens a lot of fun to play. skillshots are very important as it makes queen mirrors truly feel like best queen wins. she’s my second favorite tank for sure.
Support: Kiri because she’s just extremely interesting to play. I have always gravitated towards low fire-rate, high damage characters. the ones that dominate when you hit crits, and hard fail when you miss. Tp is super fun. The ofuda animation is satisfying.
Dps: Tracer because she is the most fun character to ever be in a shooter. People complain about Sombra’s invis, but three blinks and a recall, omg. I wouldn’t call it broken, but it’s close. If her damage were even a shade higher she’d break the game. Also on dps I feel like I have the most agency, the most carry potential… and Tracer is one of the dps that is easiest to hard carry with.
I haven’t had a ‘true main’ since Bastion & Orisa got reworked, but for a while now I’ve been enjoying Ramattra, Symmetra & Baptiste quite a bit. Don’t really have a deeper reason than just ‘I find them more fun than other heroes in their roles atm’.
I really hope Blizzard keeps moving in this direction. Not Reaper being weak, but supports being offensively powerful.
Gone are the days where you could just kill supports for free if you made it to the backline. I wouldn’t ever play support if I couldn’t confidently take duels.
Support’s primary offensive weapon should be very lethal, but slightly harder to use than dps, but support should never have lethal cooldowns, only utility. I prefer that design philosophy.
If I have to run from a Reaper or just die, that’ll sour my desire to play support.

It used to be Junkrat but with the hitscan buffs, Pharah buffs, Dva buffs, and support buffs it’s just not worth it anymore. A truly miserable experience. Now I play support and do my best to help both my tank and dps have fun.
bring back beyblade meta just for the lols. yeah reaper has had a lot of Ls in both ow1 and ow2. used to like him a lot and i don’t think he’s the absolute worst but he needs some love.
kiri and tracer are both super fun. i wish kiri could still 2 shot though. as someone with ADD tracer is fun because everything is so fast. just don’t have a very good dps mindset. i am a tank player through and through.
orisa rework is such a letdown like shes the same as ow1 orisa but she is constantly either broken or way too weak. she cant compare to sigmas dominance in the poke meta. i miss ow1 bastion so much and i didnt think i was ever gonna say i miss the same character that created pirate ship meta. ow2 bastion is so boring you play him into the things he counters and hes has very little skill expression.
i feel like tank doom isnt bad but dps doom had a playstyle that was so unique it cant be matched. i miss him too.
i wish the devs focused on making more heroes viable but with the amount of powercreep right now king of the hill type of balancing was inevitable.
I first played hero’s of the storm, and I vividly remember seeing Genji being added to that game. And I thought a robot/cyborg ninja looked sick. He was a ton of fun in hero’s and a ton of fun in overwatch
I really only play Support anymore, so I’ll go with that.
Ana - I like how she can reach her team mates from most areas of the map (within reason, of course). I don’t have to be attached at the hip to heal them or Support them, and it gives me a reason to practice my aim.
i agree offensively powerfull is absolutely what support needs. however i would like a bit of a reduction in lifelines. some supports have too many get out of jail for free abilities that are unfair. like lamp or suzu. i feel like supports should have a fair duel with a dps.
bring back nanoblade! fr genji has been done so dirty. a character that has a skill ceiling that high should be rewarding to play especially a fan favorite. genji is in my opinion still one of the most fun characters in ow he needs a lot more love though.
i LOVE new sombra. don’t get me wrong being permahacked on tank is not fun. but new teleporter with virus is a lot of fun to use. i wish she fully leaned into damage and got rid of her CC on cooldown.
ana is still the goat of support shell forever be fun to play as with and against in my opinion. no support after ana is as well designed as her. well maybe playtest juno but you never know how they might break her on release
I remember trying to learn how to play Moira when she first came out, since Ana was kind of in a rough spot for the meta at the time. It wasn’t terribly hard to learn her, it just took some getting used to on which order to use her abilities. Even now mL7 keeps teaching me new tech and tricks for most of the Supports.
As for trying Juno, probably gonna just wait until everyone stops instalocking her to give her a try. Might take a few weeks lol.
by far my favorite:
watching my buddy on ramm desperately cling to his life stalling on hollywood attack final point. as he breathes his last, i turn the corner, glide in, dupe the mercy, fly in some more to touch point, rez him, he pops ult, i pocket him as he ults, the rest of my team makes it out of spawn, and we take the point. my buddy was the ramm, and in comms hearing him say “im getting… rezzed???” will live in my memory for eternity.
bonus shoutout goes to the time my whole team got graved and i duped the zarya and bubbled everyone in the grav for full charge.
