So Genji can’t deflect it.
Meanwhile he can deflect literal fire, black holes, rockets, light based orbs, hails of bullets. But not a rock?
D.va cannot eat it with matrix. But she can eat every other attack in the game that isn’t a beam?
Where is the consistency here?

Think of the Rock as Doomfist’s Rocket Punch.
On contact, it applies a stun and then the damage, simplest way I can put it. The stun of the Rock and the Punch trumps the defensive abilities of Genji and D.Va

So how come McCrees flashbang doesn’t act this way? Considering it is a direct stun.

You must think of Sigma as him spawning a mini doomfist to rocket punch in slow-motion. That’s all

there is no reason blizzard just ****ed up.
Genji should deflect it, dva should eat it.
She eats rockets! yet a rock is to advance.

Well, it does, so long as it doesn’t touch Genji directly.
I’m fairly certain the Flashbang first checks to see when it reaches max range or if it makes contact with something that can be stunned, THEN applies it. Deflect sort of acts as a wall in that case, a wall that bounces it back.
Rocket Punch and Accretion apply their stuns first however, which allows them to trump the defensive abilities of other heroes (That aren’t Orisa when Fortified)
What I want to know is why Hook doesn’t bypass Deflect, but it can DM and Kinetic Grasp

Would be fine if it didn’t have a 0.8s wind up time followed by traveling at 37.5 m/s.
Zen’s orbs travel at 90 m/s.
Remove the wind up and make it move as fast as Zen’s orbs and then sure…You can deflect/eat it…

I know right!!! And while we’re at it how come he can’t deflect beam weapons too. And further more maybe he should be able to deflect entire hero’s back to spawn.
They chose for him not to be able to deflect it because that’s what they chose.
But please tell me how you deflect a Boulder.
Everything else actually makes sense not that this point really even matters in any way shape or form.
Everything else makes sense
So deflecting fire, a barrage of rockets, and literal gravity makes sense. But a boulder just tips it over the edge for you?

Imo it just would look funny deflecting such a massive Boulder with his tiny knife. I mean, he can’t deflecting d.va’s incoming mech either.
genji can’t deflect symm turrets, a dva bomb or a riptire, the rock is like those

Like I said I don’t give an actual eff about what makes sense if you read the words that I typed.
In reality why does this one thing matter so much?
Those are AOE explosions? Symms turrets are beams. He’s never been able to deflect AOE or beams.
Sigmas rock is a direct projectile based attack.
no the bomb itself, the turrets themselves not their abilities, symms turrets are projectiles too before they attach, so is dvas bomb

how do you deflect lava and energy projectiles with a blade? Genji should be happy to deflect half of what he can
Probably cause it would take too much effort to program it to be honest. Making Dvas mech become enemy, and turrets enemy. Also really confusing to deal with as a player?
Wait…you would think it would be ok to deflect a dva bomb if the devs programmed it? OK I’m out I think I’m starting to hallucinate now.

It’d be pretty funny tbh. But would make for really janky gameplay.
OP hero much? That would basically be workshop OW
Fine by me, workshop is usually more fun than the basegame these days anyway lol
