Any time you queue a game by yourself there are 2 things that will happen, either you get absolutely murdered by the fact that it’s impossible to coordinate with your teammates or your teammates just end up leaving mid game, in both comp and quick play. (and the extremely unlikely one which is you actually winning the game.)
Now this obviously doesn’t happen in high ranked comp, but trying to climb out of gold/plat is actually insanely difficult whilst solo queuing. Nobody is ever in voice chat so i can’t help them out with call outs, and almost nobody notices pings. I’ve had many times where none of my teammates would switch even if they were getting hard countered. I’ve even sometimes done better then some other people in this game on heroes i’ve never played. At this point it’s better to just remove solo queuing from the game since it’s genuine torture, especially if you’re going against a full stack.

the point is people get to start blaming something else when they realize that the reason their matches are lopsided has nothing to do with a lack of solo queue

solo rules because you have lots of people you can blame. Imagine if you had a 5-stack. Y’all would be blaming each other.

What’s the point of anything? The sun’s going to explode regardless.

No offense intended; however, if you cannot manage to carry a game where 5 of them are hard countering and focusing me… You do not deserve to climb, let alone win. It is not solo queue that is your problem. It’s that you cannot discern how to punish a troll composition and instead of learning, you just want to blame me as if I am having any fun watching you fail while I hold things down like a freaking champion.

Climbing out of gold/platinum ranks is extremely challenging when solo queuing.
I gave up a long time ago. Every game, I’m the only one carrying the team.
I rarely get placed with good teammates. Any DPS player who matches my skill level is always on the opposing team.
The game has turned me into a gatekeeper, but I don’t mind. It’s a fun, free-to-play game, and focusing on earning skins has made it less stressful for me.
When I was new to Overwatch, I used to get upset because I knew I was a skilled player.
Now, I’m tired of going up against top 500 grandmasters and rolling them, so it doesn’t bother me anymore. I know my skill level and I’m comfortable dominating them in game. I even let Mercy players rez them right in front of me and roll them again.
That’s how I see it. I’m not holding my breath for Blizzard to get me out of this Elo. I’d rather enjoy the skins and artwork.

Solo queue, for me, is for nights where my friends aren’t around. Or for nights where my friends are around, but I’m not in a social mood/not in the mood for more strategic matches.

Humanity - barring it destroys itself first - will easily escape this solar system.
Solo queue is designed to make your brain so numb you are unable to even feel how terrible the game is anymore. It’s genius.

My DPS is ranked much lower than my skill. I’ve been working on ranking up(won every game today). I just don’t understand how everyone else dies so much. I’ll be 28-0 for example and my supports have 8 deaths and my DPS teammate is 3-12! We still won that game and I expect to carry, but I don’t know how everyone around me dies so much.
I’ve been playing this game since day 1 OW1. I never, ever play anything other than solo queue.
I just accept the limitations that come with that. I’m mid plat solo queue. Used to be mid diamond before roles being locked. Oh well.
It’s a perfectly optimized Skinner Box for video game addicted loners.
