Don’t see them for the rest of the day (lucky if I play them at least once)
Avoid new people seeing as I don’t think I’ll run into them
Run into them either back on my team or when my avoid are exhausted
Like what’s the point of avoiding people if I don’t play them until I avoid new people. Almost 9 times out of 10 when I play against these players I gain my SR back but it’s so far inbetween it’s almost no point of having avoid teammates.
So you want avoid to function as a “put them on the enemy team” button?
That would be matchmaking manipulation at its worst lol. I get your irritation but the idea is just not the way to go. It’s to prevent having them on your team because you disliked how they played, not an “I get to farm this scrub” button.
Usually you’re only grouped with the 1 or 2 of same people 2 or 3 times back to back. After the 3rd time match making usually sends everyone to different people or can’t find enough people for a match. That’s been my solo queue experience anyway.
However…if you play CTF, CTF Blitz, Freezethaw etc…you’ll end up with the same people frequently. Especially if you play during off peak times. People who like specific modes like these just run into each other a lot. These modes also tend to require a lot more coordination so if someone throws you usually don’t want to be paired up with them over and over.
That all said, I hardly ever see the same people two days in a row. Usually I’m only bothered with them for a session.
Also I will use Avoid on loud talkers who are not adding to the game play, sound effect players, racists, homophobes, and etc. So it’s not just about them not playing the mode or throwing. They are just behaving badly.
It depends on your role, it used to work that way pre role queue because, well… Obviously. But now, avoiding anyone as dps or avoiding any dps is entirely pointless.
The point is for players you dont want to play with to not be on your team. They aren’t on your team so it’s working as intended. I’m not even sure what your complaint is?
That by the time I go to avoid new people they are either back because of me switching from avoiding new players because it’s been awhile since I seen them so I think they either log or they’ll be back the next day.
And yes if a player throw I feel I should be able to gain my SR back by beating them.
You don’t have much chance to get teamed up with the same DPS, but if you are queuing tank or support, you have a pretty good chance you will see the same fellow tanks and supports. Those are worth avoiding if they merit it.
However, there are so many hard and soft throwers nowadays, that the whole system seems kind of pointless. You just have to get used to the chaotic nature and try to be one of the solid teammates, not one of the throwers.
I’m pissed but not because I lost to someone but because you seem to want to MANIPULATE the matchmaking system by putting throwers (who were once on your team) in YOUR enemy team so you can presumably win that game.
“Avoid as teammate” is TRUE if:
•Avoided Player is not in your lobby
•Avoided player is not in your team
One can be bad but still win against a thrower so even bad people can win 6v5
