What's the limit regarding sound bit/hz?

Hi,
I’m using a headphone DAC. It supports up to 32 bit / 384000 Hz. That setting causes problems in game. Hit marker sounds missing, some sound glitches etc. Was wondering if this will be fixed or what’s the highest value for bit / hz currently supported/tested for Overwatch? Currently testing 32 bit / 96000 Hz, that works better but sometimes hit marker sounds are still missing.
Cheers,
Stoke

Hey there Stoke,

My notes for troubleshooting shows 24 and 16 bit are most reliable for sounds in Overwatch. That isn’t to say higher rates and hz won’t work, yet we do get reports occasionally of 32bit having lost sound effects such as hit markers.

I know this isn’t what you wanted to know regarding using that DAC but do hope the info is useful.

Regards

Hi,
cheers. I tried 24 bit / 96000 Hz. Had one headshot sound missing (kill feed showed it though). Is there a “default” audio setting for Overwatch? 44.1 or 48khz?

I think it’s a bug caused by dolby atmos. No hit sounds missing after deactivating it. Maybe Devs could look into that.
