What's going to replace open queue?

Since 5v5 is coming to overwatch 2, shouldn’t we get a new Competitive queue mode to replace open queue? Obviously that’s gonna have to go, but what about an open competitive with console and PC as the replacement?

Maybe they will do Group Q instead, where you can play only as a full stack and have different SR from soloQ.

Oh wait you’re right! Maybe they’ll change Classic modes to RQ 6v6 modes!

Group queue would be a cool replacement

Having one less player req also lowers the barrier to entry slightly. Would be a good time to introduce it

Hopefully the layoff queue.

Lock my roles?
Lock ur job prospects.

Or just jeep it, no need to replace a DPS sink.

I’d hope for 2/2/2 Role Q so I can still play with my Tank duos.

As neat as that’d be, it wouldn’t be accessible to everyone. Like all the normal game modes now are open to everyone, at least by level 25, but making a full stack a requirement doesn’t allow for people that can’t make one.

Maybe the number of tanks will be restricted and the rest will be free too choose.

better idea…replace RQ with it instead…so we can run 131 which probably makes more sense anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

Thats the point lmao. It limits you to only being able to play with a full team - the way its meant to be played.

If you are unable to gather a team then you play soloQ, as benefit soloQ would be restricted of full-stacks that yall hate here so much.

Hopefully it’ll remain an option even in 5v5 format. Blizzard hasn’t confirmed that it’s going away yet, only that they’re considering its viability in OW2.

If it was me at the helm, it’d be “6v6”.

Perhaps 5v5 or 6v6 but without tanks mode.

Most people don’t wanna play tank in OQ/QPC.(and that’s why they didn’t play RQ/QP) But tanks are really powerful against non-tank or less tank team. That makes a really silly situation in OQ/QPC.

Most people pick dps/supps at first in OQ/QPC, and then someone in the losing side cheats. Picks a tank.(The one picks a tank also says it’s a holy sacrifice, meaning he also don’t wanna play a tank.) The tide is reversed. Then the other team also should choose who will be sacrificing. It becomes a normal 222 match at someones’ expenses.

But without tanks, nobody needs to sacrifice, and also people who want to play tanks will forcibly only play RQ and that could relieve the queue time problem.

Probably the best idea I’ve seen yet.
