What's everyone up to?

I just thought with everything going on, outside of the gaming world (and with some of the tension on these forums over Echo and such), it would just be nice to have a calm, chill thread where we talk about stuff we’re doing to pass the time, while being cooped up in our homes.

As for myself:

Well, OW wise, I’ve been enjoying some of the new challenge modes this week. While I find Surgical Strike to be a major pain in the butt (mostly because of the assassin), I did really enjoy the Close Quarters one. Also, I’m glad another skin week is upon us. I was looking forward to this one since I saw the Event video on OW’s YouTube channel. So, that’s awesome. Plus, I’ve just been grinding away credits and boxes, trying to get some of the new legendaries. So far I’ve gotten the new Ana skin and the emote for Brig.

As for outside the game, I’ve been catching up on a lot of TV shows and movies, on the various streaming services I own. Currently, I’m watching The O.C. on Hulu (never seen it all the way through before, and it’s expiring soon, so I want to finish it). Also, I’ve been using my Disney Plus at lot more these days. I’m honestly really excited for April to come, as they’re getting that new Dr Doolittle reboot (with Robert Downey Jr) as well as the new Pixar movie, Onward. So, that’ll be nice to look forward to.

What about you all?

I haven’t touched OW as much due to bad internet. Hopefully it’ll fix, but that may be more months down the line.

Outside OW, I’ve been running through a bunch of rappers’ catalogs. I ran through DMX and Busta Rhymes already. I might go for Missy Elliott next.

Well, that’s a shame to hear.

Oh, very interesting. I’m a rap fan myself. Have you heard Eminem’s new album by chance? Music to be Murdered By I believe is what it’s called

My main account’s competitive rank is really low, and I haven’t touched it since season 19. It’s still low platinum) but I’m gonna be grinding up my tank role. 81% winrate on Zarya with 18 games won so far!

Nice. Good job. My DPS one has been skyrocketing as well.

sadly, though, I haven’t played competitive in the last two weeks. I’m just not okay with them banning two heroes from such small roles (in terms of roster size). So I’ve just kind of been avoiding it.

If they go back to the 1 Tank, 2 DPS, 1 Support thing next week, then I might get back into competitive. Right now I’m just not a fan.

I checked it out. It has some pretty good tracks. “I Will”, “Darkness”, “Unaccommodating” and “Premonition” were some of my favorite tracks from it. Hopefully we’ll see a new Bad Meets Evil album if Em and Royce ever get to it.

Overwatch wise i’ve just been botch trying to get better at echo in ptr and i’ve also played a lot of comp to earn my 3000 so i can get rchos golden when she hits live servers.

I’ve already gotten all the event skins from lootboxes except for ana that i bought. I have so much credits already so it wasn’t gonna hurt haha.
I’ve also already gotten my hands on torbs new skin, but i won’t really play him that often so meh :man_shrugging:

And outside of overwatch my life has been pretty boring, well i spend most time on my computer and nothing else really lol. I HATE being social irl

Yeah. And I think the added stuff with Alfred Hitchcock was a really nice way to go about it.

Honestly, I think that album would be good ambiance when playing the junkenstein’s Revenge stuff.

There are times I’ll have music in the background when I’m doing the PVE. And I think that would be a really good thing to listen to while doing so. It’s very fitting for Junkenstein’s revenge in my opinion

Yeah, that would be nice. there have been like songs and features and stuff, but they haven’t done an album, album, since Hell: The sequel, I believe.

Well, that’s cool. I hope you get there before she releases

Also very cool.

I have a bunch of credits stacked up, myself. But I don’t want to use them. The reason is, I’m missing like 20 legendary skins from summer games. So, what I was hoping to do is save up and buy them at anniversary, That way every event going forward, ill just need new skins That release with said event. summer games is the last one where I have back skins I need to obtain, as last year was my first summer games.

So, I’ve been saving up for that.

I mean, I could help myself by buying boxes during anniversary. I did that last year, but I’m not sure if I want to do that this year yet or not.

I feel You there, man. Although I will admit it kind of sucks when you almost can’t go out of your house.

It’s one thing if I want to be antisocial on my terms, but to have to be that way on someone else’s kind of stinks. Haha.

Overwatch wise, i decided to try out Echo and she felt great to play, her design is unique.

Reality wise, im having a great time and i just found out about the Silent Hill Series, should have known of it sooner.

Siege, OW, minecraft, preparing for grad school, and recently, job apps, not because of recent layoffs, but because I want to get involved with covid research. I know a lot of people at risk.

Spiralling into a deep depression, trying to get through the day without certain things coming to my mind and not going away until I breakdown. Past few weeks its not been successful.

Like every day.

Very cool.

Wait, I dont the people at risk part, I mean what you’re doing. You know what I mean. Lol.

Um… Wow. Honestly, as someone who suffers from things like depression, myself, I feel for you.

All I can say is eventually it does get better. It may take days, weeks, or even months, but things do get better. And, if you have anybody you can reach out to (friends, family, a partner, what have you), I hope you do so.

Only other thing I can say is I wish you the best and I hope things get better for you soon.

Im thinking about moving to dps, learn how to play hero i hate, and be annoying to everyone.
One of those days, i think i need to play something else for today.

“Little Engine” is definitely one of the tracks that can suite the theme.

As for myself, I sometimes watch my OW replays when I go listen to new albums.

I know Royce dropped The Allegory this year and basically made all the beats on it. Royce definitely brings the best out of Em when it comes to collabs. Are there any albums you have in rotation from this year or last year?

Yeah haha me too

I have around like 24 000 credits on my account so i have plenty lol xD maybe you could wait on buying lootboxes on anniversary and see if you can get those missing when you level up? i mean since every event skin will unlock i don’t think it will be that easy to obtain them.

My first event was also summer games lol, i started playing in 2017 haha.

If you’re talking about corona, well yeah it sucks that you have to stay inside, but where i live. No one really cares about it.

Yeah it’s really annoying, i mean it’s so bad for me that when people are starting to talk about me working i just shut down and wants to cry. Like i can’t handle it at all and it sucks -.-

The above thread might help. You’re certainly not alone on here, and these times don’t help anyone.

As another Brit, feel free to add me Loutish#21938 if you want to talk.

Everything you have been through I have to.

I’m on anti-d’s for last 5 years, had counselling twice, had self med issues in the past.

Trust me you can and will get through it.

Read a book called reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig, and stick with it right through. First of all you might thing woah this is too close to how I feel. Then he get’s better. Slowly…

Sleep well , Eat Well, Exercise, and most important. TALK to people about it.

Stay strong bro.

I embrace the change that is coming to Overwatch. New heroes are always welcome, no matter what role it is.

For now, I’m enjoying Bastion and Torbjorn a lot. They’re not just all about point and click heroes, you actually have to know what you’re doing like knowing where you place your turret as Torbjorn or where you have to use your transformation as Bastion. They’re, in my opinion, the highest damage dealers and most dangerous heroes if it is used by someone who knows what he’s doing.

I enjoy the challenges as well. It brings fresh entertainment for those who loves a challenge. The Close Quarter challenge really brings you as a team together, which is what Overwatch is all about anyway. This is a good reminder for me that I’m not alone.

In the outside world, I’m not able to go to my family. My mother and I were infected by the coronavirus. It wasn’t as bad as it seems. It was just like the flu to me. It was gone in about a week or so. For my mother? It took her 2 weeks to fully heal since she’s old.

What do you mean exactly?

What do you mean? Wait until the end of the event to buy boxes? Yeah, that’s what I planned on.

But, if I buy all the old summer game skins, before I start playing for the event, Then I know that every legendary skin that will drop will be a new one.

But, yeah, I would definitely wait till the end to buy the boxes.

Yeah, I mean it’s not like I can’t go outside, but there wouldn’t be much to do. A lot of places are limited as far as what they are allowed to do right now. For good reason. So about the only guaranteed thing I could do going outside would be play Pokemon go. Haha.

Everything else, as far as eating and going to a movie and stuff it’s all either not available or very limited.

Thank you for doing this. I have depression issues myself, but I didn’t really have anything specific that I could give this poster other than just well wishes.

So I appreciate you taking the time and providing information and help to them. Always good to see.

Well, that is a shame. I hope you both keep in good spirits and feel better soon.

So we’re in “quarantine” here where I live, we’re not doing school for like 30 days (I have no idea how widespread this is, so I’m just saying it here) We also had an earthquake with PLENTY of aftershocks recently, and let me tell you, I did not wake up expecting to take cover! After the first quake, I went upstairs to see if everybody was okay, and we’re all fine. It’s pretty cool to have some new experiences.
