I’ve been hopping between 3000dpi with 3 sens and 400 with 13 and I just can’t seem to find a good setup. It’s making it really hard to get used to playing heroes like Tracer and McCree. (i came from ps4 in december) I am at Mid/High Gold right now on Tank/Support (fell from plat) and my alt account for dps placed bronze and i can only get to 1600 on it. I was 2900 on PS4 and I really don’t know what to do.
I can wrist aim at 1100/5 to 1100/6 pretty comfortably as long as I still use my arm to make large turns.
I usually do everything with my wrist. The only time where I don’t make big movements with my wrist is with Genji, but I don’t play him often in comp.
Sensitivity depends on the person and their setup but if you just want a rough idea, you can see pro ones here:
As you can see though, there’s a lot of variation (hell, a few even use different sens for different heroes) and it isn’t something you should use as more than a baseline idea.
As for finding your own exact sens, here’s some example guides:
mine’s 900/8. From what I gathered pros who are wrist aimers have it around 900/7. I honestly think it’s okay to go higher if you aren’t playing as aim intensive heroes. You can get away with quite a high sense, you just need to find one and stick to it. Its not as simple as “this is the best sense” for arm or wrist aim. It’s more about practice and forcing habit into your arm/wrist.
Ok. Thanks. I’ll probably wait until the morning though since I’ve been playing a lot OW today.
Practice. If you’re not a regular PC FPS player, then you probably don’t have one ingrained into your muscle memory yet.
Across all my FPS games, they’re all set to allow me to do a 360 turn in one swipe. So the mouse movements are the same from Sniper Elite, to Battlefield, to FarCry, to Overwatch. Of course, i also try to carry the same gun across all of them.
If you’re not set yet, then settle on a setting for a couple of weeks even if it feels rather off and let yourself grow into it.
thanks for the advice
Rip the dead thread, but leewo sorry to ask, but which pros for OW use wrist aim? I only know one atm, which is gods but honestly his sense feels so slow lol xD at 800/5. Would love to know others!
1000x5, high DPI low in game sens, makes less mouse stutters
Before anything else, ask yourself these questions
- Do you use Claw or Fingertip Grip?
- The objective icons, A, P, etc, can you follow them steadily and easy while moving? The space inside A and P more specifically, you should be able to track that. Like so: Warmup Tracking - YouTube
- Are you doing Target Flick practice to work on consistency? If you don’t have it, here’s the code: R0JK8
If you aren’t doing these things, then I say adjust your sens. Easiest way imo, download mousotron, measure how much your wrist moves when you flick, prob around 8-15 cm. Then take 360/154 and 360/206 and multiply by that measurement, you will get two sens numbers from this. Adjust up and down between those numbers till you find a sweet spot, then leave it alone.
Also, I’d recommend 400-1600 dpi. Above 1600 dpi and you are essentially using a simulated dpi, not a native one.
I’ve tried both, arm and wrist movement, but I’ve found both have their pros and cons for me. The majority of the time I use my wrist at 3000dpi with 6 sens which works well, for me, for most heroes. Sometimes If I need a little bit more help aiming I’ll lower it because, to me, it feels more steady.
Honestly you just need to find whats best for you.
Sensitivity is very personalized. Here is a guide that I think can be super helpful to find one that works for you.

I remember Surefour talking about it, that he was wrist aiming, very long time ago.
Way before this thread was even made lol.
