What you all think about AI Anti-Cheat?

It’s an interesting video my friend linked me

I can imagine it having a lot of false positive in the beginning, but as the technology matures, there will be less of it.

I think AI could be used for a lot of things…

Like moving the game to Unreal Engine…

But I wouldn’t trust it to be a reliable anti cheat…

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Pretty sure it already has a near perfect accuracy.

Problem with cheating today is that its being developed to look as organic as possible and unnoticeable to human eyes, you also have AI cheats who do not inject which are even a bigger issue.

But best part about future AI anti cheat is that it can detect cheaters who cheated years ago simply by analysing old footage, wonder if the pro scene will get a panic from that one.

Worst are the people who say “I NEVER SEE A CHATER” are usually cheating themselves or are naïve and stuck with this idea of how cheating looked a decade ago.

Until there is a monitoring client for ranked games… its kinda useless.

CHeats are so easy and cheap in this game since it didn’t get popular.

Saw it like 2 weeks ago. Most anti-cheats that are server side already have an AI component and Im pretty sure Warden has that type of analytics.
What its being showcased in the video is a bit more complex, basically including an AI that profiles you, the player, and how you move your mouse and do things so when something is really outside those patterns, you get punished.

Its used in some other areas like Cybersecurity and it definitely works, but it is as invasive as it can be. Way more than Vanguard imho … and ofc, it would be all paid to the dudes on that video, which would be way too convenient for them.

Most likely companies would rather invest in improving their anti-cheat than outsourcing this task to others. Specially because that player info would be ultra valuable, since it can be used for other games so … highly unlikely to happen (at least that way).

As a former regional pro-player, I can say that it’s not really that hard to differentiate hacker from not hackers. It really isn’t. There are certain mouse movements and keyboard movements that cheaters 99% of cases cannot have without proper training or experience.

Rip anyone changing their mouse and keyboard setup.

I myself got a new mouse, got a new mouse pad, removed my wrist pad, changed my dpi settings and greatly improved my aim with all of this. Guess I’d be banned by this ai if it was on Overwatch.

I also have some rare moments where I panic flick to someone and get a headshot by accident, but it looks like I did it on purpose. These are super rare for me so I guess the ai would ban me for that too.

I’ll never trust automated cheat detection systems.

No no, doesn’t work like that.
Creating a profile is like a digital signature, just because you get a slightly different mouse or keyboard, you are not turning into a different person lol.

There are degrees of variation that a human can do, the AI would only “be sus” if you start doing other things that are super different, consistently, that yield insane results in game etc. Its all a multiple factor crosscheck analytic.

it’s like if you look at my aim carefully, the more accurate my aim is, the more you notice that there’s a upward curve in my aim. The more straight my aim is from point a to point b, the more likely I am to overshoot or undershoot.

This is something I often notice in aim trainer. when the distance between point a and point b has a fair amount of distance.
