What was the point?

Hanzo is nowhere near what he used to be. You hard coping. Hanzo is exactly what he was like before the season 9 changes. Hanzo is not shooting logs, enough with the BS. Hanzo is the only hero in the game now unaffected by the projectile changes. This alone makes him the toughest character in the game to use. Especially considering he now has a slower fire rate and still cant wall climb charge anymore. Lets not forget everyone has higher HP which means the only way to actually get those one shots is by fully charging that arrow. Considering the slower fire rate and smaller projectile size, if you miss that shot in a 1v1, you are dead.

lol how is spamming logs at chokes waiting until one hits the hardest thing to do in the game? It’s basically fishing.

No the point was to mix things up, as the devs were tackling the youtuber complaint of the time that “it felt the same” or “wasn’t different enough” from OW1.

which was what in the dev notes.

In other news this specific change didn’t do much for changing tank play as most of their TTK and up time stayed the same while dps/supports were no longer burst down or 2-tapped by most heroes with ease.

It’s the smallest diameter. It’s also very long. The tip of the arrow can miss you, but if you walk into the shaft of the arrow, I’ll still kill you.

There is like one map where thats even a viable option. Try doing that in GM and watch how you wont even get a kill. Spamming reveals your position and thus allows people to easily flank and dive you. GM hanzo plays a whole lot different than your plat games my guy

Why would I care about GM gameplay as a reference point though? That’s what 0.1% of the player base? Their experience is largely irrelevant.

Thats where I play, if you cant cope with dealing with Hanzo then thats on you. Any hanzo player below diamond spams. I would steamroll any of those hanzo plays with one arm behind my back lol.

That’s great. I don’t care. It’s not on me. That’s just the same noise people have been saying since the game came out. It doesn’t justify anything.

Make the good DPS better in comparison to the bad DPS without nerfing the bad DPS because they don’t want them to ever be properly viable and fun.

Basically, to baby the most whiny part of the DPS playerbase: hitscan and tracer mains.

Burst damage is at the worst it’s literally ever been in all the years I’ve played Overwatch yet they claimed that they’d solved the problem in S9. Instead, they made inconsistent damage profiles even more inconsistent while making burst damage more prevalent. And told us it had the desired effect. Incompetence at its finest.

They literally told us well both in those patch notes and in the dev update days beforehand that it was intended to tackle both burst damage and burst healing because it had gotten out of hand. (due to the 5v5 format)

Later they have said some crap about making massive changes just to shake things up, but every time they do this it just serves to consolidate the status quo, S9 included.

Yeah it does, how is it players like me have no issues facing hanzo? The answer is simple. Instead of crying about the potential random headshot hanzo can get once in a blue moon, we all learned to simply outplay him. Same way we have learned to outplay every other hero in the game. When I see people crying about hanzo I always come to the conclusion that you guys are just lazy, you all fail to learn how he plays and you all rather complain than look into his weakness in order to deal with him. Hanzo is one of the easier heroes to kill due to him slowing down before he fires, hes also bulky and slow in general.

All he has going for him is storm arrows and the accuracy of the person using him. Weird to me how you guys rather complain about hanzo when widow exist.Widow is actually consistent, has bigger bullets after season 9 and is literally a hitscan. Widow is miles better than hanzo lol.

So no it’s actually just a small ball, the same size of genji’s shurikans before the hit box changes.

that so happens to sit around th middle of the arrow, which is what get’s people confused when attempting to dodge via AD strafing.

Then something is wrong with how favor the shooter interacts with Hanzo arrows because I’ve been killed while fully around a corner or miles away from where the arrow was.

His arrow isn’t even a log. Feels like it because character hit boxes in this game are stupidly big.

We say this but ISTG I can count on 2 hands the amount of times Ive been oneshot by Hanzo ever since he got 250 damage arrows back. I mean that seriously BTW, genuinely 2 hands. I do not see this character, and when I do they are not succeeding as Snipers, hes STILL just an anti-tanker.

But youre right! Whats the point of the HP and hitbox changes? I say remove them all entirely because season 9 is disgusting mutant game design, dumbing down the game just to appeal to as MANY loyal Kiriko skin buyers as possible.

Which is why I cant wait for the 6v6 tests. I despise all that 5v5 is and has done for the game. All.

That’s just a ping/lag issue. you or the other guy just might not being getting feed back for like 2 or more seconds. And the game has to make up for that at times when it simply doesn’t have the correct information to give to you till after the fact.

were it has to “guess” when the hanzo launched the arrow.

I’m at ~30-40ms, so it’s almost definitely the other guy.

if only there was a blog post that talks about why they made the changes…

lag issues sometimes are not entirely on the hardware can be human too
muahahahahah :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

the dragon is sated

Oh thats lag, thats gonna happen in any multiplayer game you play. Ive died behind corners by widow at times, heck sometimes I’ve died to some random shot from ana that was nowhere near my screen but in her screen she had a full view of my character model. I do wish blizzard would simply move the ball to the tip of the arrow to avoid visual effects like the ones hanzo has

its probably to show the arrow sticking into people when it collides rather than tip hitting and it sticking without going in or something.
