What was the best and worst season of Overwatch 2?

Curious to see if there’s any consensus to this. Also I’m not counting content from the betas as part of season 1, since it wouldn’t be fair to have one season with 3 new heroes.

While the current season is pretty bad, I don’t think anything will ever outdo season 3 with adding what very well might be the worst map in the game, event modes that were thrown together in 15 minutes in the workshop that gave OW1 skins for playing htem, and a fairly boring asian mythology theme

Best was either season 2 or 4. Both had fun heroes. Season 2 was a bit better on the gameplay front since it also came with a good map, the better event mode, and the more balanced hero. Season 4 was a bit better on the theming end, like the starwatch mode was basically it’s own immersive alternate universe, just a shame it wasn’t just a bit more balanced. Also probably had the most impressive mythic.

6 was also good and had the most content by far, but they botched the release of the PvE so unbelievably badly that I really can’t defend it

Also to all the comedians about to reply “best - none of them. Worst - all of them,” you aren’t funny it’s too predictable

Worst: Every single part of OW2.

Best season one. No much difference between ow2 and ow1 in balance, plus Queen.
Second season the worst becase nudevs started destroying something that was working and replacing with something that they never tested enough. Snow ball of bad changes is growing since season 2 and leads this game to oblivion

My least favorite season so far was probably season 3. I do like Antarctic Peninsula, and Kiriko’s mythic is the only good skin she’s gotten (fight me), but other than that I don’t really have any positives to say about that season.

As for my favorite, I’m torn between season 7 and season 8. I’ve just enjoyed the game way more during the last 2 seasons than I did in previous seasons. Plus the cosmetics and event modes have been pretty good imo. If I had to pick just one favorite, I’d pick season 8, simply because Mauga is my favorite hero they’ve added to the roster since Orisa’s addition all the way back in 2017.

I think I liked season 1 the best. Kiriko finally gave me a new support hero that I felt fit well with my playstyle and skill level. Even though her personality in game (insufferable, cringe, obnoxious) is nothing like her personality in her reveal trailer (kind, funny, badA), the hero was fun enough to learn that I could overlook that.

While I do not like any of the new maps or Push that released in beta/season 1, it was nice to see them and explore them, and my hometown getting a map, even though it’s hated, was cool.

I really enjoyed the new Halloween mode and that hyped me up even more that we would be getting new modes for all OG events like Winter and LNY. (lol, what a naive idiot I was).

Overall, during season 1 my hopes for PvE and the game overall were still high, it looked very much like a work in progress and I was convinced that we would eventually reap those rewards and see all that progress we’d waited 2.5 years for, plus my enjoyment of the game coming off of OW1 was still at its peak.

I don’t really remember anything else from that season, nor much from the other seasons, they all sorta blend together, but in terms of engagement, this season, season 8, has been the worst for me. I’ve played less than any other season, will not be finishing the battlepass for the first time since launch, I hate Mauga, I hate the skins, I was disappointed with yet another boring repeated winter event, the ticket thing was kinda cool, getting super cheap cosmetics for once in this money hungry game was nice, but then LNY came out and it’s literally just more repeated gamemodes and only fully priced shop skins again. So, as usual, we go one step forward, two steps back.

season 6 was the best for me due to everything they added. the worst is probably season 2, I hated the Hog meta.
