What the hell just happened?

So I was playing a game of comp, my whole team were just bratty children who rather blame everyone but themselves for their downfalls, and honestly I am tired of playing Support.

How it went was for starters I am not on top of my game today, don’t asked me why, I have no idea maybe it’s just one of those days. But despite the fact that I try even when for whatever reason I am not doing so good and already know it, people still like to point fingers instead of looking at themselves and how they can improve. Anyways after a while they wanted to keep flaming me but also wanted me to give them heals, I told them fine if you are better then me and I am so bad you don’t need my heals to win and to have fun.

Continued playing the game, didn’t heal any of them and just started doing something by shooting at the other team members who obviously were better off than we were because I doubt they had people flaming each other on there team. Anyways needless to say they lost and I knew they would.

It wouldn’t of mattered if I healed them or not, us losing was enviable since they are more focused on complaining and being Toxic than they are on pulling it together, working as a team, and winning the game. Not healing people if they want to act like brats about things since honestly it’s hard to care about your team when the first thing they do when they lose is point fingers.

That said I am resigning from playing Support temporarily because screw these bratty little overly egotistical jerks. Wait times are going to be painful, but at least you don’t get screwed with by your team nearly as much when you play DPS. I enjoy playing Mercy and other support characters, but I don’t enjoy being shouted at by sweaty children and then them expecting me to still heal them even though they were rude to me.

I really am starting to see why there are so many salty Mercy mains. Before I thought they just were over exaggerating, but NOPE they most certainly are not. There are children on this game who are really that ignorant and I will never tell another Mercy main or Support main for that matter to chill for as long as I live when seeing threads made by them about crappy people they got paired with.

I understand that the your team was toxic but you understand that you are hard throwing by not healing. “We would’ve lost anyways” is not a good excuse. Anyways see you on another role ig

I’d report you OP. By queueing as a support you have signed on to support the game. Imagine if someone else on your team did that.

If I said “Yeah, I’m a bad DPS. I’ll just run around on soldier and play as a healer instead.” you’d agree that I was throwing, yeah?

So by refusing to heal your team given the chance to, I’d insist you’re hard throwing and suggest for all players of the round to report you.

I agree with MoonBurst here, you were part of the problem, for not healing.

For all you guys that want to say you would report me, these dudes literally told me not to bother healing them pretty much. Keep that in mind, I would of rather just healed my team and had a good game. I am not throwing when I was told not to heal in the first place.

If they wanted heals they should of shut up and played the game, instead of telling me to not bother healing them.

People calling you the C word and saying you suck when you were healing them, is more of an issue than me proving a point by doing exactly what they told me to and not healing instead shooting. Logically speaking, what I did wasn’t nearly as bad as what they did when I am a primary DPS main anyways and know how to get kills by shooting.

And if you would disagree then you are living in a fantasy land, under no circumstances should flaming or trying to tilt your own teammates be more acceptable than choosing to shoot in a FPS. And frankly, I hope I never have to deal with that again when playing Support since I rather heal when playing healer and help out by keeping them alive.

Yeah, I dont blame you here… if they asked, fine by me…

Seriously though, flaming ain’t okay and you shouldn’t try tilting your own team. Whenever I do decide to play support in comp again, I honestly hope I never have to put up with a team like that again. I rather heal when playing Support.

Also to be fair those guys didn’t ask me to shoot, they were just using comments on those terms to add to their toxic remarks. So I just showed them exactly why they should shut the hell up and play. And I bleed for anyone who gets those jerks on their team in the future. Because they were probably some of the most awful people I have ever played with and that is saying something when you are playing in bronze.

I don’t care if you are bad, as long as you try. However I don’t excuse people talking crap to their own teammates. They wanted to lose.

You can’t fight fire with fire. If they are toxic you should not be like them but better than them.

I had a similar thing yesterday. I’m healing my rein, and he calls for me to Nano him, which I do. I expect him to use earthshatter and stun the entire enemy team, as they where all on the point. Instead, he decides to jump onto the point, telling me to follow, pin there bastion and, STILL CALLING FOR HEALING, charges off into the abyss, leaving me in a 1v5. I mean, sometimes idiocy knows no bounds.

When will people learn to use the block function and just keep playing as if nothing happened as soon as toxicity levels rise?

Well I mean I don’t expect much from my team, I only care that they try. However I do expect them to have more maturity and respect than a 2 year old has.

When I said they were awful, I am not referring entirely to their skill level or even their play style. I am more so referring to just their general behavior. I generally don’t care if people are bad in the lower ranks, because you have to be bad before you get good since no one naturally is a pro at this game. You gotta practice and work hard if you want to get good at a competitive game of any kind.

Just mute them all, then switch to a support that can frag without throwing and frag insanely hard. Or just play QP until you feel better, etc.

I am a Switch used-to-be plat, now high gold mercy main, I deal with this kind of thing a good amount of the time. If they tilt, don’t tilt yourself, play your best, just mute, avoid, and get semi-used to that kind of thing if you feel like staying on team chat while climbing. Or find a more mature group to play comp with. But yeah, you should try to maintain a thick skin in scenarios like that.

I am a primarily Damage role player, so I can just play comp for now queuing for Damage instead of Support until I feel better. QP is the worst mode in the game, so I am not touching that even with a ten foot pole.

Pretty sure the people on Switch are more immature than the people on PC or more so the immature ones are more frequent on Switch than on PC.

“Thick Skin” Bud I am a Reaper primary main, words don’t hurt, but I do like getting back at people when they use said words against me. Because screw them if they want to act like jerks, I will just do what I please if they can’t remain civil when I may not be at my best but am still trying.

That was what I meant by “I deal with this kind of thing a good amount of the time”, was just implying by my rank and platform that it is indeed common for me, not saying it’s uncommon for you, I’m just saying I probably am put into these situations more when anybody bothers to be in team chat. Therefore it serves as a background to the advice I’m giving and what I do against that problem.

I mean if they throw due to tilting, don’t throw with them, you don’t even have to heal and you can still avoid throwing, just play reddit lucio, or zen with minimal heal or something, and focus on fragging if you really want to avoid healing, at least then you still have an impact.

I mean if you want to play support, you have to have a thick skin, that’s the norm, and yes, it can get that bad, playing support sometimes can feel much worse than being a reaper or hanzo main/something similar, i’d say it’s normal to get worse or at least more criticism and toxicity when playing a support than maining a disliked character.

Honestly, I don’t find it that hard. Reaper and Mercy are my most played, so it’s usually one of them unless they aren’t the best pick for the situation since I can also play a number of other DPS and most of the Supports.

What I meant by “I am a Reaper main” is basically we get a lot of hate in general until we show our team that they need to swallow their opinions. So I am use to the pains in the neck talking crap about me already. All the more satisfying when I save their butts from almost being 3v1ed and losing.

I do, but its already been said. plus, the QUICK CHAT MENU exists, so they can still spam “I need healing” when running into the void.
