I assume its not many since my queues are currently the fastest they have ever been and that includes end of OW1.

What are you talking about? I didn’t say anything about 6v6 if that is what you are on about… BTW tank was insanely fun in the Beta for OW2 before they started adding/buffing the heck out of supports to the point they control the entire game and pick your tank for you.

I recently came back after a year away and I’ve been having fun mostly playing tank (QP RQ). I haven’t kept track of how much I’ve played each one since returning but I think I’ve played them all for at least one full game except Mauga and Zarya, and maybe Ball despite being my most played overall.

I can play Zarya, Orisa, Dva, JQ and not much more (confidently in my rank in comp). I can’t figure out (or care to try to learn) how to actually enjoy tank. Why play anything but Lucio?

doom, winston, queen, roadhog, zarya, rein
not much success on ram unfortunately, and i just figured out to bubble myself on zarya instead of saving teammates like gm players do.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I really really miss being a tank main. Working together with the other tank for synergy. Some of my fav characters in the game are the tanks. But I just cannot enjoy myself being the only one, having that much pressure on you.

I am having fun because I do not take the game seriously anymore. I just go for clips even though I am not a content creator… And I have no idea how to record them. It’s not about that. It’s about the style.
I tried to jump off the high ground of Shambali second and land a 360 shatter on a Genji. He… Just jumped over it. But imagine if it landed, though.

I also suspect it’s because we didn’t know the optimal playstyle. We (including DPS and supports) played the heroes we wanted to play. In beta, they didn’t really play to hard counter the tank. They had OW1 energy where they tried to win with teamwork, strategy and synergy with the heroes you enjoy playing.
Then the ‘metas’ are found, and optimal playstyles for minmaxing winning. I’d imagine tank would still be found to be miserable even if they didn’t make any changes at all from the Beta patch.

That’s basically the crux of it. Tank in QP is actually pretty fun for a game or three, when everyone is just mucking around, so long as the entire enemy team doesn’t swap to hard counter (which they will still do in qp, thus the shortlasting fun 
).
But tank in comp is just… nails on the chalkboard… Someone smack chewing with their mouth open… Unable to sleep while your friend near you is snoring loudly… or with boogers in their nose causing their breathing to sqeak… being stuck around mouth breathers… wearing a new shirt out and you forgot to cut off the tag scratching your back.
You get the point.

Someone already said it, but D.Va is the answer. I’m having a lot of fun on her on nearly everything but KOTH maps.
I’m masters 3 and she’s helped me get there. Her counter becomes Zarya, whose not in the greatest spot right now due to her lack of mobility. And more often that not even if the dumb enemy tank is doing okay they’re angrily swap to her.
I’m comfy finishing the season here because the higher I go the more it’s just Sigma and Orisa spam, or some whacked-out Doomfist that just snorted coke before playing.
My fav tanks are JQ, D.Va, and Ball, but my highest peak was achieved with Orisa in OW1 and Sigma in OW2.
