DO NOT be toxic. Some skins I believe should or Should not come back.
For example The weekly skins I believe should be put in loot boxes. For example
Snow angel Mercy for Christmas Loot boxes or the new sym skin in Anniversary. This is because those skins are pretty limited. What about the ones that are about things Like Comic Book Tracer, Pink Mercy etc. I believe they should only come back in respective times. For example on comic book day week you could get comic book tracer for 750-1000 coins for that week. Pink mercy should be available for 2 days in October for $20. Lego bastion should be put for 3000 coins on legos anniversary day. Do I think All star skins should come back? No, they had there year and purpose.
Dr Ziegler or Maestro Sigma? Maybe be put in the anniversary event. I believe mardi gras ashe should be put in either Halloween loot boxes or Anniversary. Nano cola dva/Kerrigan widow can also be put in anniversary. These skins you didn’t pay money for so do not start complaining. For those with pink mercy. NO I do not care about that. At all. Just because you like having a rare skin doesn’t mean it should be locked away for good. Noire widow also should not return.
Personally, I think all of them should, but they should take more (sometimes significantly more) to acquire. I don’t think exclusivity is healthy for the community.
I think the weekly challenge skins should all be brought back, in future events. This includes the 1-week event challenges, and the mini-event 2-3 week challenges. Either re-introduce the challenge (Possibly more wins to gain them), or offer them for 2-5x the normal price of their rarity (so 2000-5000 if it was a legendary). The offering can be limited time, during a future event for instance. Or, offer them for $5-15 cash or $5-15 worth of OWL tokens.
For OWL skins, I think they should also come back, at 2-3 times the price. During the weeks when the 2021 MVP skin is available, they should make all previous MVP skins available, but for more.
For Pink Mercy, similarly, they should reintroduce the fundraiser each year, but make it require a larger donation ($30-50+).
Noire is the only one I’m not sure about (and the one I don’t have). I think something crazy like $50 worth of OWL tokens might be fair, but I’m not against this one alone being never brought back.
That being said, Blizzard won’t bring any of them back.
Event challenge skins (I mean why they are legacy in the first place?)
Lore related challenge skins (Why lock away Bastet Ana when its her persona in the present lore?)
Skins that should come back - The ones i don’t have
Skins that shouldn’t come back - The ones i do have
I actually said the opposite
Bastet ana and lore related should be brought back to archives event.
Good ideas. I’d love to have something to do with my credits. I’d like Pink Mercy to return and have an option to use like 10,000 credits on it, then ActiBlizz donates $10 to general cancer research (or let me choose a type to donate to).
I’d also love to have the Illidan and Tyrande skins available again.
My issue is that I’ve spent enough IRL $$ on Blizzard products and services (compared to how they run their games) that I don’t think they deserve much more for this game, in particular.
Lots of people have tons of credits rotting in their Hero Galleries, and there should be something to spend them on.
Yes…that’s a great idea
I think they should just be added to lootboxes after one year, maybe two. Weekly challenges during events(Mercy Snow Angel, Ugly Sweater: 76, etc.) can go in the lootboxes of the associated event. Weekly challenge skins outside of that time frame(Nanocola D.va, Bastet Ana, etc.) can go into the base lootboxes; they haven’t been updated in ages, so those could use it anyway. I do have the majority of limited skins, but I feel like 1-2 years of flaunting it that the novelty wears off; the rest of the rabble can be free to have it after I’ve had my fun with it.
The Allstars skins should come back for anniversary for the same price they were originally. Weekly skins should come back too
I have posted this before, but updated it:
My take is pretty basic on these.
You have a few different groups:
Blizzcon skins
- Bastion - 2016 Blizzcon skin
- Genji - 2019 Blizzcon - Illidan skin
- Sombra - 2018 Blizzcon - Demon Hunter from Diablo
- Symmetra - 2019 Blizzcon - Tyrande skin
- Winston 2017 Blizzcon skin
Challenge skins
- Ana - Bastet challenge (skin and victory pose) and Winter Wonderland 2020
- Ashe - Mardi Gras challenge
- Baptiste - Halloween Terror 2019 challenge and Baptiste Reunion challenge
- Bastion - Summer Games 2020 challenge and Bastion’s Brick challenge
- D.Va - Nano Cola challenge (I think this was the very first one) and HotS Officer D.Va skin challenge
- Doomfist - Year of the Rat 2020 challenge
- Genji - HotS challenge (both this one and the D.Va Officer skin were moved to normal loot boxes later on)
- Junkrat - Halloween Terror 2019 challenge and Winter Wonderland 2020
- McCree - Anniversary 2020 challenge
- Mei - Summer Games 2019 challenge and Archives 2020 challenge
- Mercy - Winter Wonderland 2019 challenge and Recall challenge
- Moira - Winter Wonderland 2019 challenge
- Orisa - Summer Games 2020 challenge
- Reaper - Summer Games 2019 challenge
- Reinhardt - Summer Games 2019 challenge
- Roadhog - Winter Wonderland 2020 Challenge
- Sigma - Anniversary 2020 challenge and Sigma’s Maestro challenge (Maestro has both skin and emote)
- Soldier 76 - Winter Wonderland 2019 challenge
- Sombra - Halloween Terror 2019 challenge (same Demon Hunter skin from Blizzcon 2018) and Halloween Terror 2020 challenge
- Symmetra - Archives 2020 challenge and Restoration Challenge 2020
- Torbjorn - Archives 2020 challenge
- Tracer - Summer Games 2020 challenge and Tracer’s Comic challenge 2020
- Widowmaker - Anniversary 2020 challenge
- Winston - Year of the Rat 2020 challenge
- Wrecking Ball - Year of the Rat 2020 challenge
OWL related skins
- Brigitte - Goat Skin
- D.Va - 2020 Pacific All Star
- 2019 - Shock skins for multiple heroes
- Genji - 2018 Pacific All Star
- Lucio - 2019 Pacific All Star & Dance Party emote
- Mercy - 2019 Atlantic All star
- Reinhardt - 2020 Atlantic All Star
- Tracer - 2018 Atlantic All Star
- Winston - Flying Ace
- Zarya - Alien
- Zenyatta - Zen-Nakji
- All the various team skins for every hero in the game, and even different year versions.
Specials
- Mercy - Pink Charity skin
- Widowmaker - Pre-order only skin Noire
- Widowmaker - Starcraft 20th Anniversary Celebration skin
To date, only three special skins has appeared in more than one way to obtain. One being the D.Va Officer skin (which sparked a lot of controversy) along with Genji’s from the same event and the Sombra skin Demon Hunter which is the only Blizzcon item to have had this happen in Overwatch.
I feel that any challenge event skins should be something that can be attempted again or obtained as drops in the following year event they were a part of. Why not?
However the following challenges are harder to suggest a fair way to obtain them:
- Ana’s Bastet
- Ashe’s Mardi Gras
- Baptiste’s Reunion
- Bastion’s Brick
- D.Va’s Nano Cola
- Mercy’s Recall
- Sigma’s Maestro
- Tracer’s Comic
- Symmetra’s Restoration
These are special challenges. As of now I don’t see an easy way to re-implement them, if they even have a plan to do so short of just adding them to the loot box pool eventually. However the rest could be integrated into following years of the event they were a part of.
Specialty items are a bit different, as are Blizzcon event items. While those skins actually carrying a Blizzcon logo and date probably should be kept as they are, they did release the Demon Hunter from Blizzcon to the following year Halloween, so if they can do it once, why not the WoW related skins?
Pink Mercy is always a hot button. I say they should do a charity every year, introduce a new pink skin for a hero each year and have the option to unlock or bundle previous skins from the previous charity event. Win win for everyone.

Basically all, game shouldn’t give content to certain people just because they were online during that time and paid the amount of money that time too
Not everyone subscribes to the “I didn’t participate or invest, but I want the same things because fairness” mentality.
From my seat, there are only a few of the items that should remain exclusive. Most of the rest of them should be allowed to be obtained again through another means which I described above.
Just saying. I don’t really feel for those that missed out or didn’t bother because “reasons”. I don’t feel I should get items that I wasn’t there to collect, so why should someone else? And there are many things in my life I missed out on. I don’t sit around and whine about them. Are they nice to have? Sure. Should you get them because you exist? No.
There is nothing wrong with earning something in the world. That’s part of the problem with it.
Game on.
Doomfist Thunder is the ONLY skin that should return. And Monk too i wish i played the game when both of these came out
so the ONLY skins that should return are skins that YOU missed so YOU can get them. interesting
Pink mercy could come back, BUT you would have to pay the same amount as last time.
It shouldn’t be for free, ever.
All of them, please Blizzard let me have another chance for Demon Hunter Sombra and Dr Ziegler, I’ll even get all the other ones like a good boy if it’ll make you happy
what?
barbarian zarya and butcher roadhog were added to the base lootboxes the day blizzard world went live, along with other skins like hellfire reaper, black cat d.va, immortal orisa and asp pharah
that was on the 27th of january in 2018
blizzcon, where demon hunter sombra was released, was in early november of 2018
that’s roughly a whopping 10 month gap between blizzard world, where butcher road and barbarian zarya were released and blizzcon where demon hunter sombra was released
did i miss something?
Haha
i personally feel like it should cost at least 20 or 30 instead of the 15 bucks it cost originally, because most of the playerbase already has the skin. so if they keep the skin at the 15 buck price tag, they won’t raise as much money as they did last time.
of course, the limited time merch and the streams will definitely help too, but i think the skin was the main way to raise the money.
on top of that, it will keep the people who got the skin in 2018 satisfied with themselves because they didn’t have to pay double
