i play at 100 but everyone keeps telling me its super weird and i was wondering what the average sens is also what difference does wireless and wired mouse make
There’s no “supposed”. Use what feels right.
I play on 8 for the majority of my heroes, with 12 on heroes like Winston.
400 DPI - That one’s important too.
I play on 100 100 too with no aim assist strength (I find the times its helped me are greatly outweighed by the times it hurts me)
It really depends on your DPI. I play on around 2 with a 16k DPI mouse.
1600 DPI and 2.5 in game sensitivity over here.
It’s a personal preference but generally
lower sens is better for mouse n’ keyboard
higher is better for controller.
Where I play with 8-13 on PC, I was at 100/100 on console with most heroes.
There’s no sensitivity you’re “supposed” to play at, except the one that works best for you! Though I will say that lower sensitivities will greatly help you with more aim-intensive heroes like McCree or Widowmaker.
I play at 7.5 sensitivity for all heroes. Not so low that I break my arm whenever I have to turn around, but not so high that I’m constantly jittering whenever Genji or Tracer jumps on me.
1600 DPI and 5 sens in game
400 dpi/ 12.5 in game sens
It all comes down to personal preference, though 100 in game sens is pretty high. Generally if you play aim-based heroes then a lower sensitity can help you be more consistent with your aim.
There is not one you’re “supposed” to use, just use what feels right.
I use 1100 dpi and 7.5 sense and it works fine for me, others have lower, others have higher. It is just what feels good for me.
There isn’t any sort of true sens. It’s more of personal preference and some basic rules. Higher sens is faster and less accurate. Lower sens is the opposite. Sens is also influenced by the heroes you play.
You’ll find most pros go for around 5 to 10. Having your DPI set higher is more important than a high sensitivity.
I use 2750 dpi, 3.12 sens in game.
Lower sensitivity with a big mouse pad generally gets better results in most games that rely on aim.
Wireless Mice have somewhat higher latency but the cord doesn’t get stuck on anything ever.
With that said higher sensitivity probably will put less strain on your body. As I frequently am using the computer for work and also game I don’t use lower sensitivity to reduce the stress on my hand/wrist.
Personal preference, all my games are set to do a 360 in one swipe. In Overwatch, that’s 28sens on 1000dpi.
At 100 sensitivity, i wonder how you hold your mouse.
Not much difference between wired and wireless really. It’s mostly about your aim getting messed up by the cord. You can feel the cable dragging on a normal office mouse, gaming mice have really soft cables that you can hardly feel at all, wireless loses this problem completely.
Assuming you’re using 800 dpi use something in between 2 and 20. Anything less and you’re using using your entire desk for a 360 and anything more and aiming becomes very difficult to do. I used to use something crazy like 40 sens in low silver but I learned you can’t actually aim with that sens. Now I use 1600 dpi and 4.33 sens and I’m in high plat.
Sure, there is a component of personal preference involved but I don’t recommend going over 20 sens.
High DPI, low sensitivity. There are videos out there to prove that high DPI low sens is better than low DPI high sens. It has to do with how your mouse processes the dots.

Of course this only works if your mouse doesn’t extrapolate (is it the right term?) pixels. Or the mouse doesn’t blow up the image being scanned. Some mice take snapshots of the surface and zoom in to make the DPI count higher, when in reality it’s just more pixelated pixels. A truly high DPI sensor will capture the image and divide it into more pixels for calculations.
