why does blizzard think their prediction system and hidden mmr are accurate? i did my placements for healer, which is literally all i ever played and have hundreds of hours on compared to 5-10 hours on dps, won 4/5, placed 2000. i then did dps queue for giggles, never played dps before and lost most games. also placed 2000. this system is clearly broken.
If you play DPS more I guarantee you will plummet to where you belong. It will take a bunch more matches but it will put you where you belong. How quickly do you think you could figure out your actual rank? Five games? I doubt it. The software is no different, it needs more data to get a better estimate.
Why people expect to get an accurate SR after just five matches I will never understand.
Right. But there’s no better way to do it (unless you’re an expert on skill estimation and know something the rest of us, including Blizzard, don’t). You say the system is broken but you’re expecting it to work under circumstances it wasn’t designed for. It’s like how race cars can be god awful to drive really slowly. The clutches are all jerky, the engines are rough at low RPM, they’re so loud your ears bleed… The car’s not broken it’s just not doing what it was designed for.
Just play more games before complaining it got your SR wrong.
The system isn’t broken. Blizzard have been tracking your MMR across different roles for months now and this beta test is to see how the new modified system works.
Wins and losses mean nothing when it comes to placements. It’s all about individual performance.
The system obviously thinks your DPS is as good as your healing.
I placed the same for tank and heals but higher for DPS.
As for a MMR reset, that would mean masters playing with bronzes.
if the system thinks this it’s completely bad, that’s my point. my dps is no where near as good as my healing which is consistently 10-15k. my dps was not even bronze damage for almost all of the placement matches.
then the ranking system is bad. you’re not arguing anything other than assuming the system is working at all and saying well that must be right. it’s very broken. i am at best a bronze damage, silver if lucky. not gold. i am at worst a plat healer, not gold, yet place 2k. for both.
and what “facts” are showing me otherwise? you sound like a redditor just throwing words out there making arguments of no substance and then saying that’s facts. yikes.
I never said I was showing you facts. The game showed you facts. You’re ignoring them because you think you know better. That’s your problem, not the system’s.
That’s why its the beta season, you’ll get placed at whatever SR for all 3 roles, if its innacurate you will climb/drop, with that data from all the players playing role in beta season they can more accurately place you in season 18
Because 3200+ players and <2000 players dont belong in the same game no matter how much better or worse they are at different roles.
My roomate is a low silver player. On koth a smurf 6 stack was able to basically lock them in spawn without even capping the point, and stalled the round for 30 minutes. That’s how much of a skill gap there is in this game, and you want to put top500 players in the same game as bronze players?
you know it’s not uncommon for gm dps streamers to have bronze damage? i mean first season of owl jjonak was putting out more dmg than alot the professional dps players
