What ping is acceptable in OW?

I just started on PC and I hover around 70-90 ping, is that ok?

Well we don’t get a visible “Ping” counter anymore, but back when we did I got about 30-35ms consistently and it was decent. Now we get a “latency” counter that has a bunch of things factored into it. I get about 45-50ms (which is obviously the same as my 30-35ms Ping). That’s a good number.

My ping used to be 17-22. I think now I see my latency around 30-35. 90 sounds a little high for fast heroes like Tracer but not the worst thing ever.

Some heroes are a little more forgiving with what can pass as acceptable, but getting too far over 100 latency is probably pushing it for most of them (especially the squishy ones like Tracer, it’s not fun when your not in control of when you blink around the map, lol).

Ideally though anything below 50 latency is pretty solid.

all of you are right. I’ve actually been rocking at widow so far but when I scope up it’s clear that there is lag.
I’ve been thinking of a power adapter for internet (because I notice wireless is bad), that’ll be enough right?

The one you get now is even better. It’s the round trip ping time which is more accurate to whats going on in the game.

As for OP, 70-90 is fine if that’s what you’re use to playing at all the time. If you have something like 30-40 on average then jump up to 90 you will feel it a little.

Ping on PS4 should be roughly 50-60…on most days i get anything over 200-800

Above 70-80 you have issues where people escape hooks and other weird effects. I have no idea how the Koreans in contenders NA deal with triple digit ping.

I play on American servers instead of European because the people are just way nicer there. On European I have 14ms latency and American 120. And I still carry games with zen so I think that’s fine

A little higher than optimal, if you ask me. I’m running on about 40-45 latency with my current setup, and whenever it spikes to above 80 if I’m in a skirmish or whatever, the difference is incredibly noticeable.

My latency stat in the game hovers around 65-75ms it feels pretty good to me, lower is always better, but I’m not having any issues with pointing at someone and hitting them.

Yes, I understand what it is. If I didn’t explain it well enough, thanks for doing so for everybody else.

I am going go off-topic a little bit, but when since I am a college student, I had to connect to the Wifi in the dorms…

My ping was above 150+ and it was horrible. I remember playing Rainbow and my ping was legitimately around 4,000. Of course I got kicked.
But to answer your question, 70-90 Latency should be fine.

Got to the training range, pick McCree and shoot a bot in the head. If you notice a delay before that nice “chink” noise then your latency might be an issue, if not it’s all good.

My latency is around 150-170 (perks of living in the Middle East /s) but it’s perfectly fine for me and it feels quite fluid to me. It could just be that I’m used to this latency so I don’t feel how “bad” it is, but compared to mine, yours is really good.

Anything below 200 is playable for me. At least at that point most characters aren’t teleporting around lol.

for 1 year my ping was about ~ 20
now ping is ~ 30
i think OW is very forgiving … ping = 100 is still okey.
