Tried Destiny 2 and their PvP is an unbalanced mess that has been that way for years.
Tried TF2 and it’s out dated.
Tried COD and still feels pretty generic.
Tried CS:GO and it’s very boring.
Tried Valorant and it’s very boring, but in Korean.
Haven’t tried Fortnite and never will. Appeals to Gen Z and Alpha too much.
Tried Predecessor and it’s dead already + MOBAs suck in general (seriously, how do people get into this genre?).
edit* Tried Apex, and again, very boring. The entire Battle Royale genre in general is just terrible.
So what other shooter out there is there to play if all these other options are x1000 more terrible than Overwatch?

Titanfall 2 is a great shooter. Only problem is that the peak of Players is like 2000-5000 on Steam since its a FPS from 2016. But it has a small and fun Kampange, has crazy mobility, has titans (mechs), has a PvE-Titan mode, you can customize your load out as you please. etc.

There is “The Finals”. It’s a fast paced shooter with tons of verticality and a fair amount of different playstyles.
Your weapon can be anything from a rifle, to a shotgun, dagger, sword, hammer, bow, grenade launcher, etc…
Also a variety of utilities (aka abilities)
Brother I am still waiting on them to give up on Apex and go full send for Titanfall 3. Beautiful game.

surprised no one mentions splatoon.
it’s not like a replacement. but Splatoon is seriously one of the best PVP games of the past decade. feels great. is unique and best of all, its one of the few multiplayer games out there that doesn’t feel like it hates you and wants your money. no microtransactions of any sort, just expansions that focus on the singleplayer or cosmetics.
i know its not on PC, though and most people here dont have consoles. but you should absolutely play Splatoon. Nintendo is one of the few consistently great AAA developers. Splatoon 2 can be found extremely cheap, too

Honestly, it depends on how similar you want the game to be to Overwatch? Marvel Rivals is scheduled for another beta soon, I believe; Concord has potential; Gigantic Rampage Edition still has its free week going until the 28th; and Supervive recently got a beta announcement.
*There’s also that Valve steampunk game, but that’s most likely not coming out till next year.
Tried Paladins, hated it. Very stupid concepts and designs.
Tried XDefiant last week and fell asleep mid game. Just another generic shooter with no individuality.

So, how about the other ones mentioned? I know most of them are in betas, but general thoughts on observed game play.
CS is the most pvp shooter you will ever get (together with Quake 3/live). On the BR side there is PUBG.
If that is boring for you then you aren’t really searching for a shooter but for a 1st person game.

There are alternatives. They just are not as popular as overwatch.
I’ve spent several months on a serious detox from this game. Avoiding battle royales, I got into a few steam games - Cyberpunk 2077, Helldivers 2, Satisfactory (a beautiful factory builder game, highly recommend), Lemnis Gate (while it lasted), Bleeding Edge (a moba-style fighter/shooter, also highly recommend), and a few others.
Overwatch just owns a monopoly on player attention, within the overwatch community. There are alternatives.

I hoping that new dota style shooter will b good, but i think we gotta wait a year or 2?
I feel like shooting in CS is extremely camp based
Iceworld was fun (in 1.6, IDK CSGO or CS2)
Ranked is way simply toooooo long
I tried it once, and it swapped around 12 games and I just cant do it anymore

OW doesn’t have monopoly on anything. It has been irrelevant for years. Only the OW players thinks anyone still cares about it.

I still play BF1 occasionally. The game still holds up well and has a decent player population for an 8 year old game. It’s one of the most immersive fps I’ve played. The audio and visuals are fantastic. The map design is easily the best in the BF series imo.

Trust, I know. Been playing more Cyberpunk 2077 lately for that fun FPS itch. Overwatch has it’s moments still but I just wanted to see what the community thinks is superior.
