What key do you bind your mic to?

I wanna get used to using my mic more often instead of pings because of how limiting they are. But the key is at the corner of the keyboard. What keys do you use for your mic? Or do you use open mic?

I use left alt, you can still use all other keys you’d normally use with your left thumb (aka space lol)

Middle mouse button for me. Perfect location, and I put pings on the button on the left side of my mouse (Razer Viper V2 Pro)

I use additional side button on my mouse

I use L-ALT for OW voice and L-CTRL for Discord.

I get them confused constantly and tell my casual, non-Overwatch friends that there is a Genji in the backline quite frequently. :joy:

My push to talk voip is on key “T”.

Used to be on Q. Replaced it with ping in OW2. Don’t use voice chat at all.

I use open mic, but with a “toggle mute” key. It’s `, the same place that the default push to talk key is.

I mute and unmute quite frequently, and sometimes don’t realize I’m muted when I think I’m unmuted or vice versa.

But generally:
I try to mute when I’m coughing/sniffling/making any “annoying” noise, or talking to my stream/to anyone on Discord.
I try to unmute when a fight is beginning and I know I’m going to need to make callouts.

ive always used middle mouse button (across all my games)…so my ping button is now Lalt

I use Z, I also have my ultimate set for 4 and my melee set to E. My abilities can vary depending on what it is. Grenades are middle mouse, movement abilities are shift, stuff like junkrat mine is 1 or 2 or mouse buttons.

Who uses mic?

Imagine talking to other people. Just be an introvert like me.

I don’t use mic as people get scared by my voice and it’s not like anyone says anything important anyway.

This has nonetheless left me with the same question, what button is best for push to talk. Good topic.
