What is your music preference?

Lately, I’ve been mixing in music under Overwatch sounds, and it’s made me focus better. So I ask what do you listen to, if you do listen while playing?

I’m a metalhead, so I’ve always got something like Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, In Flames going.

rock electric phonk and rap

Nice, I don’t think I have the trust level to post links.

But for my own tastes I’d recommend Parallels and Blinded by As I Lay Dying, I Am Broken Too, and Always by Killswitch Engage. I also recommend Embody The Invisible and Cloud Connected by In Flames

Dang, I don’t know if I can narrow it down. Bob Seger, Ghost, the Kagamines… I basically listen to a garage sale.

Oh God, Bob Seger… I have PTSD growing up and staying with my Grandmother, because she ONLY listened to him.

Used to be a big metalhead, but I don’t really have a preference for any genre over another anymore, I just like all kinds of music.
Recently though I’ve mostly just been listening to some of my favorite video game soundtracks.

Game OSTs are always awesome, I’m personally a massive fan of Final Fantasy OSTs.

Nobuo Uematsu is a genius and I will be so sad when he dies.

Progressive metal is perhaps my favorite. I just went to the Mega Monster tour last week with Gojira and Mastodon (and Lorna Shore, but they are deathcore). They are easily some of the best bands out there. No dramatic line ups swaps over their years, diversity in their albums, and extremely talented (especially their drummers). I also enjoy a lot of their lyrics compared to most metal which is just… Edgy fun. But sometimes you want a bit more meaning.

Each their own, I am more into Metalcore, heavy riffs, clean chorus, etc. The farthest I go towards heavier metal than that, is early In Flames.

I miss early In Flames, everyone was praising their newest album as a comeback, or return to form, and I am like… what???

It was not bad. Probably their best since Sounds of a Playground Fading. Is that even saying anything, however? It did not really bring me back, just more disappointment. I am not even the type who only enjoyed up to Colony. I liked Come Clarity and Sense of Purpose.

Metalcore is not too much my jam as a whole. Bring Me the Horizon or Bullet for my Valentine would probably be my other favorites.

I personally loved Colony, but I would say my favorite In Flames album is probably Reroute To Remain.

I, The Mask was a solid album yeah, but it wasn’t a return to form. I will say though, Stay With Me is a banger.

I feel like it needs to be the kind of music that gets you pumped up at the gym.

So like hard rock into metal, or hip hop into rap. Moderate stuff like pop or country feels like I’m sitting at the park.

Kpop has more pump than 90% of modern music. Pretty crazy, but you could give it a try.

I just put it on now and will requeue.

giving me a headache while playing but it sounds good otherwise!

I don’t often listen while playing, but Red Vox, The Megas, The Protomen, and Tiger Eyes (formerly Tanuki) are a solid top 4 for me. The consistent theme I’d say is rock of just about any kind.
RV isn’t too much metal, but more slow, moody pieces. Some of their older stuff is psych rock at the most.
Here are some of my favorites from all 4;
