I keep deranking and having the same pattern.
Win 5-6 games in a row with 0-2 death lots of kills and dmg way too easy games. Then I go on a massive lose streak having absolute potatoes on my team who can barely leave spawn, then win the remaining 1-2 games to be placed, then keep going down a rank.
Went up to silver 2 then degraded to silver 5.

Yep, it’s either roll or be rolled. Ive had hardly any even games. It’s terrible. Huge lose streaks, then win streaks, then lose streaks. It’s not balanced at all.

They don’t want you getting to those 7 wins too quickly… seems like the rigged gatekeeper matches from OW1 have been moved from the last game before a new rank to the last game before your 7th win with the potato meter turned up to 11.

I can’t stress enough how bad matchmaking is. I’m diamond 3 healing GOLD dps! While the other team has diamond dps.
Has blizzard actually acknowledged this in any way?

You’re in silver. Neither you nor your teammates are consistent and are always oblivious to their own flaws so even if it was because of you that your team was losing, you wouldn’t even notice. Their rank is an average, how they play from game to game can be wildly different.

This idea that high level players just assume everyone below diamond is the same is bull. You can watch streamers set the games up, where there is one person not in the rank that everyone else is, its usually pretty clear why they are that rank. The difference between silver and gold is miles, the difference between gold and plat is miles same goes for plat diamond, but we are all getting put together with bronze and new players… loads of fun. Top 500 games are bugged too, Jay3 was playing with a legit plat the other day, hes top 100 they lost the game of course because that guy shouldnt have been there at all. The system is broken, fix the F***ing game.

That’s indeed true but its a different issue than what op is talking about. Blizzard scuffed something and some games have people that aren’t anywhere near that rank, but that happens for both teams so it evens out. This guy is just losing and blaming it on potato teammates where most likely he’s not doing any better.

No it doesnt always happen for both teams, how delusional are you? That doesnt even it out either. Ask the ranks of people in your games, you’ll quickly realize they are trying to force carries and losses. There should be no reason brand new players that dont understand a character and need it explained to them should be anywhere above bronze 5. New players shouldnt even be able to see a plat player.

I watched a flats stream yesterday, he was playing with all diamonds on his team against all gm on the other team and he got rolled because the diamonds played like diamonds and the gms all played like gms. So no the matchmaking is not balanced.

Yep watching the gm’s games has shown me this doesnt get better, only worse and unless your a god who can genuinely carry new people, good luck climbing. Its like comp is the new qp for blizzard, coders must of had brain damage when making that part of the game.

50/50 is happening, the system is reducing your winratio, by putting you as stompmaterial to people whose winratio is lower.
Basically to encourage people to keep grinding.
On the upside, if it’s happening to streamers, then something might get done about it.
If it was just the bottom 97% of non gm plebs, then we’d all be lumped as being as bad as each other and told to get on with it.

can’t wait to see the shills defend it now. it’s worse than it was in ow1. stomp 2-3 matches and the mmr rigging kicks in faster than you get to change ranks. it’s the dumbest thing ever codified into a game, which is why we want to see the algs.

They’ve shot themselves in the foot with score boards.
Now you can see the dps on 30-3 kd on same team as the 5-8 utter feeder dps.
At least in ow1 the bad players had some scope to hide.

Ranks are fake and only visual in this new system, people are still matched based on their old SR. I see same top 500 players and pros I saw back in ow1, even though I placed diamond 2 I was still getting put into top 500 lobbies, because my old SR would put me there. After about 40 games this season I’m yet to see anyone whos an actual diamond player in gm, even if their meaningless icon is showing otherwise, just like mine. Thats how there are people in top 500 leaderboard who are like master 2 and are higher than some players who are gm1.
Supposedly some streamers claimed that they really did have actual diamonds in their games while the enemy team was gm. I would bet its just old players that haven’t played in years who’s skill is now that of a real diamond and so is their icon yet they still get matched based on their old SR.
Regardless, this issue doesn’t only magically affect the teams you’re on, it affects everyone. So in the end you get some free wins and some free losses because someone who hasn’t played in 5 years who was gm placed diamond and plays like a diamond yet still gets matched to their 5 year old sr.
As for where new players should place, its not up to you to decide. There can be plenty of people that are good fps players that never played overwatch that can still have same or better performance in their games just by aiming and shooting with an aim hero, raw mechanics. Just because they don’t know the maps or characters doesn’t mean they’re worse than you if your mechanics are piss poor.
The “force carries and losses” thing is just copium and always has been since ow1. Players who are incapable of introspection and blame everything on “bad teammates” or some skynet secret conspiracy algorithm making them lose to keep them from those higher ranks they actually belong to always make something up to make themselves feel better instead of improving.

Those “diamonds” could have been players who were gm’s 5 years ago, since matchmaking uses old SR and not the new fake visual icons to match people. Obviously if they haven’t played in years they’d play like diamonds. I did too my first few games and I was placed diamond 2 while being matched at my normal old SR which was around 4.2k

Also you should wear a tinfoil hat because blizzard uses your 5g router to control your brain to throw games when they want you to give others free wins.
Its the dumbest thing because you made it up. Only reason games seems to be more erratic now than in ow1 is because a lot of old players came back and are being matched at their old, now hidden, Sr, insead of their icon that you see on their profile. Once it stabilizes by the end of season or whenever, it should go back to normal.

mmm no, Flats in diamond games, and the plat i was talking about in Jays top 500 game, had an open profile and had never been in GM, it kind of negates everything you just said, and points more towards a bug or bad programming. PLats shouldnt be playing with bronzes doesnt matter what your mmr is, if it is that good you shouldnt be bronze. You can pretend like you know what’s happening behind the scenes with hidden mmr, but you dont because they never released the info on how it actually works.
