What is winston's weakness supposed to be?

joint first place for most mobile tank, both most durable and practical barrier ability, highest consistent tank damage output, highest health pool, ult that has multiple effects for some reason, and he also gets 100% barrier uptime unlike every other barrier tank

what is the downside meant to be?

Complaining about Winston?
So that is something new, since some time.

where’s the complaint? just asking a question

Things that ouchie him and his bubble really fast that have a high enough health pool to ouchie him before he tickles them down

OP got zapped by Winton as if he was a little insect :sob: bzzt bzzt bzzt

Shotguns mess him up pretty good. Might even be the one thing Reaper still approaches relevance for. :joy: :sob:

Usually when people list all of the upsides of a character while leaving out the negatives they’re lobbying for a nerf. You’ll have to excuse us for being so cynical, Coldflame, since I’m sure you were asking a genuine question and not a rhetorical one.

Winston’s weakness is that against certain characters like Reaper and Bastion, he can pop like a zit. While folks in M+ rank might have the skill to work around that, at most levels Winston will get exterminated and swap off.

100% barrier uptime?

Highest consistent damage?

Highest health?

Most durable barrier?

Most mobile?

These are all either factually or subjectively false.

His biggest issue is there is only one tank imo. If he wants any value at all he has to dive the back line, his dmg does absolutely nothing to tanks or other heavy targets with support back up.

But if he’s diving the enemy, his own team is usually left to defend for itself against the enemy offense and tanks. Given the HP buffs Winstons Time to kill is not great and it’s very likely your own team will die before your get a kill.

Plus if you want hyper mobile tank I think Ball is way better now.

Spread weapons kinda mess him up because he has no way to avoid them outside of bubble dancing and most do high damage. JQ, Reaper, Dva, and Tracer eat him up.

High sustain and he just can’t kill anything. You can shred bubble with high damage too.

His massive hitbox and commitment after a Leap.

If he jumps in and his initial target doesn’t die, he just put himself in a 1v5 situation. Stay with your team and hopefully your team is coordinated enough to recognize a Dive attempt and either repel or destroy the Winston.

Yeah complaining about Winston is wild. Im not sure how he stacks up in S9 but for the most part he’s been the most piss useless tank in this game pretty much since OW2 came out.

He hard-loses a dps race with basically every Damage hero except widow.

Actually focus his bubble after he leaps in. Burn his bubble quickly and he’s useless.

90% of games with a dominant winston, the other team never bothers to shoot the bubble

His weakness is unfortunately the h key. He’s one of those heroes who’s only counterplay is teamwork, or barring that a swap. He’s the closest thing to a stat check hero in overwatch.

Crit/burst damage is his weakness. Burst damage can get through his shield easier.

Dv a and bastion sland hog and mauga say high.

He’s the best tank right now. He’s dominating, according to Alex Dawson.
And he’s far from being as hard to play as he used to be.
