What is up with these maps for Lucioball?

For those who may not have already seen, the maps for Lucioball are filled with walls in the middle now. Why is this a thing? It messes up pretty much everything that people who have played since 2016-2017 have been used to. Maybe it would be fine to have these experimental changes available for the workshop, but in the regular mode (and by extension, Copa as well)? I humbly must say, “no can do”. The maps also feel quite a lot smaller as well.

Now, I like the QoL change of halving the cooldown on Amp here. 12 seconds was ridiculous for something that only lasts 3 seconds. I think the boop cooldown was fine at 3 seconds though and didn’t need to be reduced to 0; maybe reduce it to 2 seconds? But this makes part of the ult obsolete now as well.

Can the walls in the middle of the Lucioball maps be removed and go back to how it was before please? You can’t even do reasonable air passes because the walls just get in the way.

The walls are good. Lucio moved too slowly in the middle of the field so if you didn’t want to feel like a slug then you had to hug the walls the entire time.

Also now the maps aren’t just literal backdrop reskins.

Yeah seriously, the biggest complaint people have had about Lucioball is there being no walls to ride on.

Well now the opposite problem is true. These walls are so obstructive that you can’t even get reasonable passes to your striking teammates unless they stay on the ground. And ground passes are far too easy to intercept

Completely agree with you. I think it’s okay to have walls on Remix mode, but in regular Lucioball I would love to have good old Lucioball.

I don’t mind the change per say…but yeah some of these “additions” are way too obstructive…at least keep them out of standard…I hope they’re not in comp

I hate this maps, just want the old lucioball back. No onme asked for this

I’ve heard from Top 500 players that they are there too. I’d know due to being in the Lucioball Top 500 discord (yes, that’s a thing). #ConnectedForDays

They are in competitive. playing on the map with the poles and I’ve already scored two own goals.

I hate them honestly, messes with my tactics and player placement.

At least don’t want them for comp, for the rest it’s fine but this is most likely going to ruin my ranking.

Havent seen any walls on Copa but on Remix

I miss Hammond Ball

Only Estadio has no walls; the other 2 do. When you see them, you’ll know what I mean

Thats odd. Why add a feature if they dont apply it to every map? Or perhaps there was a bug for Estadio and thats why the walls are missing?

I couldn’t say; but here’s how I describe them now:
Estadio: Traditional
Sydney: Walls
Busan: Pillars

That will be a little hard to get used to. Thank you for the information though.

new lucioball is just pinball. anybody who played the old one at a high level is going to hate these maps in COPA.

COPA should be basic and there should be a pinball/chaos mode for these new maps and multiball.

The zoomer maps should be in Arcade only and Copa reserved for standard lucio ball.

This was a terrible decision.

Honestly, I have not yet played them, but I’ve been begging for an actual field change between stadiums since year 2. I think it’s a good thing that we need to change the way we pass and shoot depending on the stadium.
