What is up with the cool-down time for resurrection?

Mercy’s ult used to be resurrection. Now it’s valkyrie. That’s fine, but I have a problem with her new ability.
Sombra’s hack cool-down is 8 seconds, but only 2 if interrupted by damage. Mercy’s cooldown time for rez is 30 seconds, and can easily be interrupted. When this ability is interrupted, you have to wait another 30 seconds. This has cost me several games due to how easy it is to interrupt her during this ability. I feel like if someone does the slightest bit then I’m stunned right out of my rez. Why is the cool-down 30 seconds to begin with? That’s 2 people a minute… That seems a bit unfair. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

You are right! We should just remove it and replace it with another skill.

People considered resurrect the most overpowered ability in the game with no counterplay. so a 30-second CD was deemed the best way to balance it.

Like killing the Mercy? In any game with healers, you kill the healer first. The rez wasn’t the problem, nailing her down for a kill was and still is. Lower the CD on rez, increase the CD on her movement skill. Boom! Both sides happy!

Bring mass rez back and make valk a 45 second cooldown that lasts for 10 seconds

Try telling the complainers that. killing Mercy is too hard apparently, even now while she’s rooted in place for 1.75 seconds.

They already stated that it is never coming back though.

res is powerful, it’s like adding a seventh player to the team. a high CD is warranted imo

Because Rez is hella strong.

When it was an instant cast, this was justified.

If it’s interrupted, it should have a reduced cooldown similarly to Sombra’s hack.

Though this seems kind of pointless, if Rez is interrupted you’re almost always dead within seconds, the walk back from spawn removes the need for such a reduced cooldown.

it’s like people don’t remember the entire reason Mercy got nerfed was because she turned games into an 8v6 if the other team didn’t have a Mercy.

You’re right, it is unfair. She shouldn’t even have resurrection as an ability - mistakes should matter.

I mean, at this point, resurrects never going to end up in a a place everyone can agree on. The best thing that could have happened to Mercy was it being replaced by something entirely new.

But people insist on hanging onto it based on the silly excuse that “it’s her identity”.

If a 30-second CD ability that requires you stand still for 2 seconds and move 75% slower is her identity, that’s pretty crap honestly.

Not whenever Mercy does not defend herself. If she flies out of position, she’s going to take damage or be punished for doing so. She’s not invulnerable you know :confused:

Moira deals tickle damage and has to be in the frontlines of combat. Ana being jumped is irrelavant when a good Ana should be in a good position. That’s your high skill ceiling, being in a good position to snipe heal your targets.

If Mercy defends herself while healing a critical target, they die.

If Moira runs out of healing juice while healing a critical target, they die.

What… Reloading is not the death sentence you make it out to be. Everything here sounds exaggerate. I play Ana quite frequently, the only circumstance where I agree with you is if you need to reload while healing, the target dies… but that happens with the other 2 main healers as well.

Ana should be in a good enough position to not get dived and crushed. If your argument was “Ana can’t heal through dive” I’d agree, but are you suggesting a buff for Ana or a nerf for Moira and Mercy?

Imagine Moira with no Fade, or Mercy with no Guardian Angel, or longer cooldowns. They’d be awful.
