What is this "ranking"?

In the past, winning 5, losing 3 or 4 would push you up at least one rank, sometimes two. Why is the ranking different and more difficult now? It seems like you have to have either 5 - 0 or 5 - 1, just to rank up one measly notch.

5-0 doesn’t rank me up either. It’s a horrible grind. I hope the new system is better next season.

5 - 0 doesn’t mean you’ll rank up either as above lol, I gave up months ago now in comp, still enjoy MH and QP though

But
If everyone has looser MMR/ranks ups/downs, that means everyone will be fluctuating on the ladder more than they are now, and since 90% of forum users are posting about ranking up, if the up/down is more volatile do you think this will solve the problem?

I don’t
The very reason we have hidden match SR right now is because of sensitive people
I predict the exact same people will be making the exact same posts after the changes - transparency is good, OW1 SR should have stayed, but watching someone in Bronze climb to silver and then go back to bronze FASTER
I’m not sure it’s going to have the impact people are expecting

I honestly think they should scrap the whole system. It doesn’t make sense to base it entirely off of wins and losses. I went 5–4 on my last card and the % stayed the same. It should go up at least a little for going positive, especially since I performed well in each game.

What’s faster? Right now it can take a couple of seasons to gain a rank from this circus. People are not even ranked properly. How many hundreds of games should it take? It’s taking so many games because it’s evaluating your overall teams you play in, not you. It makes no sense.

This is my point, you are only focusing on the gaining aspect, when in reality it’s going to go both ways, faster, and annoy the same people even more than it does now lol

Well, I never argued for it to be fast. It just shouldn’t be an awful grind. I don’t have this problem in other games. How do you get no SR for going 5-4? It’s stupid.

when was this?
20char

You do get SR, it’s just minimalised because the SR up/down was removed from every match, so if you go 5/4 you get an 80% increase but you don’t feel it because of the dumbass system, the cards was never a good idea in the first place

I got 0 SR for going 5-4. Makes no sense to me. 82% to 82%.

It depends on the rank of your opponents. If you are higher ranked than your opponents and win 5 lose 4 then you won’t gain much because you were expected to beat them.

It works the other way too, that if you lose to higher ranked opponents you don’t go down as much either.

If you played opponents of equal ability and went 5-4 then you would gain about 23% overall.

If your MMR is slightly lower than your rank it’s possible

Gain 20sr per win
Lose 25sr per loss

End up the same spot after a 5-4.

Yea this is all confusing to me lol. I just had 2 different char spots go 5:1 and I don’t think I saw any gain in rank. Not even 1 measly spot. I can’t wait till Season 9. Get rid of this crap, I hope.
In earlier seasons, if I had that good of a win/loss streak, I’d be boosted to high rank or even to the next rank.
This current ranking system makes it overly difficult to move up, imo.

That makes no sense. Why would it be different? I went 10-4. Why would the MMR be lower? Wouldn’t it match?

Same here. Now it just keeps you in a rank.

It is. There hasn’t been a performance based element since OW2 started.
