What’s up with this new screen? If I want to see stats I go to career or profile or whatever it’s called, I don’t need to see them after every game.
There’s an order of operations when completing a game, hit escape, leave game in the menu… now hitting escape does absolutely nothing.
It feels to me that the UI designer didn’t do effective research or doesn’t play the game to understand how engrained this motion is for players.
I’m not sure what they’re trying to do with this post-game level thing, but it feels poorly designed and thought out. What am I missing? Where is the value?

People have been complaining about the lack of progression since OW2 launch. This is their attempt to add in a system that makes you feel like you’re making some sort of progress outside of the battle pass.

I really hate it too, it’s just so excessive for absolutely no reason.

It was completely fine in Ow1, the card system and the personal levels (level borders) you’d gain were great. It was simple and not cumbersome.
I’d be ok with if they kept their new progression thing if there was a way to disable it and I’m pretty sure most people would.

I prefer it
Better than just jumping to battle pass progress

I’ve definitely seen the posts you’re referring to. Do you feel like this addresses that? I don’t really see any value in it. The ‘on fire’ system and simplicity of cards after battles worked well for me to indicate performance. Unless leveling up increases weapon damage or gives some measurable benefit, what value does this new screen have for players?
I like it, it reminds me of Heroes of the Storm.
It also lets me look at specific things at a glance where I can easily see if there is a specific part of a hero’s kit that I am not making full use of and might need to work on. Like if I’m level 8 in damage on a hero but only level 4 with their utility ability or something, I’m not getting as much value as I could and I can easily see that.

its just too clunky, too many clicks to go through, but i like the idea. it should combine all the increases for heroes you played that game into a single screen. and yea, you should be able to totally skip the screen with esc.
it should especially be removed on game modes that doent even contribute to progression (pve, customs, some arcade modes, etc)

I like the hero progression I’m just not sure about the way they show the end screen and I can’t just hit Esc key to get out of it. If there was a different way to see the animation and all that else where like in our profile, maybe that will help?

Not really, but mainly because the system is poorly explained and unnecessarily complex.

Plus you could see it around people’s borders and such. It was a clearly visible representation of playtime.
Also the hero levels should apply your stats already accrued. Why am I starting from scratch after 1,500 hours?

I’m so sad to see people complain about the new progression systems, I’m actually so happy with them

There’s a few things they could do better. It’s a good feature, but needs some refinement. I think they’ll really get it down by the time the game is out of beta. It’s got potential.

Just let us skip it with esc, or at a bare minimum allow hitting continue instead of waiting for the animations.
And if they want us to use it show something actually useful, like your stats in relation to other players with that match playtime on the character. I don’t need the game to tell me I played a character therefore totals went up. We all know that already.

agreed, my shiny level border was my personal progression I was fine with, but now it just sits hidden away while a new one just comes in out of the blue

Seems like the consensus is we’re all generally fine with it but it’s pretty clunky and the value is questionable. I really appreciated BRUVNUH’s take, as well as the feedback from righthere.
If they could just add a “skip all” button at the end of the game that would be perfect.
The most annoying part is that it requires a different button on ps5 so i can’t just spam x to get out as quickly as possible. I actually have to kinda pay attention for a second which is a waste of my time lol

When I’m mad at the game that just ended I do not want to stick around.
That’s why I turned kill cams off.
