I got just Gold 5 and proceeded to win 5 straight games and now I’m Gold 2???

So Blizzard lied to us when you said the skills and stats didn’t matter, only Wins and Losses?

Now I’m wondering if all the people here complaining about not ranking up are as unaware as the OP is that the lower the number the higher you are.

Yes. Lower Number that means you are Higher Rank.

its based on mmr.

if your mmr is equal to your sr then the 5 wins in a row you might go up 100sr but if your mmr is higher then your sr and you win 5 in a row then you might go up 300sr.

the 5 wins /15 losses is a misdirect. these 2 numbers are when it will update your shown rank (gold 5, gold 3 ect) based on your hidden SR that changes as you win or lose and thats it.

you arnt actually doing placements over and over again, its just a UI to hide your SR because some people couldnt handle seeing the number in overwatch 1.

yea all ranks are based from 5-1. 5 being the lowest and 1 being the highest in that rank

i still like the old ranking system better but i did hate the placements in the old system. now it feels like you do placements all the time since you cant see your rank till after 7 wins or 20 losses lol

It always have been the same, with the exception of PBSR which was removed in OW2.

It matters who you play and win against, and who you play with and lose against. If you happened to beat a few teams with many Gold 2 on the enemy team … yeah, they boost you to that rank and see how you do.

If you keep winning against them, next step will be putting you vs Plat 4 people and probably give you Gold 1 etc. Nothing weird or new under the sun mate. The problem is that theres a lack of transparency and you dont see who you are playing with and against so … yeah, you can’t really tell most of the time.

Which is BAD.

Yes. Low is better.

Another idiotic decision considering OW1 had it million times better with not only more intuitive system but a more accurate one too.

Thanks guys. It’s the first time I went 5-0 for placement, it has been very confusing before.
