I keep on seeing threads about people talking about widow and that “she shoudn’t be allowed in the game.” What happened? did she get buffed in PTR? are widow mains popping up left and right? I don’t get it…

Dive has died alot so it is harder to deal with Widowmaker.

Yes, actually, the meta has shifted to double sniper and Widow is still technically more powerful than Hanzo. Not saying that Hanzo complaints died down, but with Brigitte complaints dying down and everybody giving Zarya a free pass, it was to be expected.
Widow is not more powerful than Hanzo, lol.
Hanzo is deleting tanks with a single ability atm.

She is able to one-shot with her primary fire ability, which is neither fun to play against or healthy in a game where healers play a central role.

Complaining about Widow rn with Hanzo in his current state is a joke.
Forum just bandwagons on demanding nerfs for whatever DPS is highly represented in OWL.

That’s the point of a sniper. TF2 does the exact same thing except the sniper class is even more powerful due to the fact that he can headshot oneshot ALL other characters.

I am very aware, but that doesn’t mean that Overwatch needs one. I can’t comment on TF2 as I have never tried it.

I don’t think anything obvious changed about Widow, other than Brigitte being kind of good for healing fringe DPS since her passive heals everyone within line of sight and her armor pack has pretty good range.
I will say for the last month or so though there seems to be a Widow in almost every game I play. Doesn’t matter if it’s arcade, Comp or QP. Doomfist and Widow are very common picks lately, and not by people who are the next big Pro Widow either.
Both the snipers are strikingly similar charging to 150% and doing double from 150 (triple in TF2). The only difference is that none of the nine classes in tf2 exceed 300 hp, and tf2 players STILL get around them. In that comparison, widow is not a big deal.
So can Hanzo.
But we are not trying to copy TF2 are we? To be clear, I have no trouble playing against widowmakers on my level (gold - diamond). At this level she is balanced and a fun part of the game. But it appears that at higher levels, the second you leave the cover of a shield, you are dead, and that sounds no fun at all.

Yeah I probably didn’t make myself clear enough there, it is rather the distance and precision she can do it with that is the main problem.
It’s as if people haven’t played any other FPS ever made. If the sniper lands a headshot, game over. That’s how snipers work. This isn’t unique to Overwatch.

With his new arrow speed, he can reliably do it from quite the distance too. He’s way worse than she is right now.
Because a support can’t kill her. It’s that simple.
No but other FPS are not Overwatch. Overwatch relies heavily on the fact that you are damaged, and then you are healed back up again, if the healers can’t sustain the damage, you die. Snipers counteract this balance, and personally I think it is unhealthy.
I completely disagree. An FPS without a one shot kill sniper hero is no FPS at all. A sniper that can’t kill with a single headshot isn’t a sniper and isn’t worth playing.
Sniper isn’t more powerful than widow.
Yes ,he can one-shot everyone ,but he has NO mobility ,making him MUCH easier to deal with.
