What is support

Because according to the forms support literally just a heal bot role and if their healing is even nerfed alittle they are dog water. But what i play support to do is support my team its why i play lucio and why hes my main i dont heal much i help setup kills get people off my back line help my tank make space and get to cover faster counter ult the enemy damage ults i dont play support to just heal bot the tank all game but based on the forms talk of support we might as well call them healers

yeah I mean this patch has basically proven all along that support players were never actually any good at their role and just healbotted

supports finally have actual opportunities to play aggressively and make plays, and support players are now crying because they cant get the same value from just chilling in the back healing

Like even though healing and sustain is still too much, it’s defo remedied with the dps passive

idk man i feel like supports are never gonna be happy no matter what the devs do cuz I dont think they even know what they want support to be

This this is the problem their is 3 support players i fine in the form people like me who like utility supports who want to make play and help my team set up with utility then you have damage support supports who want to kill the enemy but also save their teammates think good bap mains then you have the 3rd support main and i think this is the biggest group the heal support, support mains that just wants to look at their team and hela them and keep them alive while not interacting to much with the enemy team think mercy weaver mains

Playing support means supporting a W and healing only as much as is needed for teammates to live.

Healing is definitely worth less now due to the dps passive and everyone being able to regen health.

The sooner support players ditch the healbot mentality, the better off they’ll be. And they’ll be more successful, imo.

Im sorry healing is not worthless its still good its just not pump into tank and they take 2 minutes to kill level strong any more

No problem.

This is a really weird season for supports, definitely the weirdest so far in Ow2. It’ll take some time to adjust, and I think a lot of tweaks are needed. My girl Illari is a borderline throw-pick now :cry:

Hopefully the devs will follow through and balance stuff out quickly. Or at least try to balance stuff out.

You’re massively underselling the healing nerfs. Everyone is taking significantly more damage thanks to the projectile changes and constant anti-heal.

Simple answer, support is whatever you team needs. That’s why there’s so many different ones. Some times your team needs heavy heals. Sometimes they need speed. Sometimes they need more damage. Sometimes they need invulnerability. Sometimes they’re doing their own thing and so do you.

So yes when you take one of those needs and makes your input significantly weaker, it feels bad.

Exactly, support is not just about healing. The problem was that overwatch ALWAYS forced the support role to JUST heal. Such a sudden change without even giving an extra boost to the support left them practically useless.

Its true. Why did lucio get a cool buff to compensate, and everyone else was hung out to dry? Lame. :unamused:

Bro? Where is this opportunity? They only reduced the healing, there wasn’t even a damage buff, literally nothing.

they got more hp as well as their team letting us have more time to react and help they buffed size of all heros shots that includes support so ana bap are healing more and all supports can hit more shots look at mercy my god. supports not useless and its never been useless

no they havnt the problem is every time we seem to go to a low heal meta people freak out like its wild

  • Active duration on jump/crouch cancel reduced from 1.5 to 1 second.

Sympathetic Recovery passive

  • Health recovered increased from 25% to 40% of healing dealt.

mercy got buffed and bap was buffed because his abilites are percent based so was kiriko with Suzu because it heals 88 constantly instead of 80 and brig got a damage buff same for moira

they got the increased size making doing damage easier and supports already had good damage

These changes are not even close to being something decent for the support role. Moira had a tiny damage buff. And increasing the size of the projectiles does not justify it, because it was a change for all roles.

im having no problems keeping my team alive as lucio so

Speak for yourself I have contantly 2 times less deaths than my other support and I manage to have high assists almost every game

Obviously… It’s not you who’s healing, it’s your team’s passive healing.

no its i help my team get out of the line of fire and push dive heros off my teamates and then heal them up the problem is dps and tanks need to learn how to use cover better and supports need to realize they need to help kill more then ever from the replays i have watched off the forms about people complaining i see 2 think happening no one is using cover and support not doing damage and thats why they are loosing this patch fundimentaly changed the game do changes need to happen yes but i personly thing we need 2 changed first give the passive an indicator so supports know when to use abilities on targets to get the most out of it and show the team who to attack first second the need to pull back the size changes by 50% to start
