I think its pretty safe to assume that this person is Sombra, considering she has proven to not be very loyal to Talon. She seems to want to stir the pot, but for what reason?
If she is the one supplying Jack with all this intel, why would she be doing it? Why would she keep Katya alive?
In the Zarya comic, she says theres something bigger going on. Could this be to do with the original Overwatch banding together, or something to do with the Iris?

I donât think Sombra is as âevilâ as someone who works for talon would be. Sombra is most likely a character who âdoes bad things for good reasonsâ
She gathers information about big corporations and leaks them out to the public, in a way thatâs kind of a âgood guyâ thing to do, I think the whole working for talon thing is actually just a way for her to continue doing âher workâ and leaking information about Reaper to Soldier is something she would do because itâs something sheâs done to other âbadâ people before.
Not sure how to classify that into what sheâs up to, but it definitely isnât sticking to one side.
Sombra came straight to mind for me too. We know she has secret dealings outside of talon, like her deal with Katya. I just have no idea what sheâs up to. I just hope it has to deal with the mysterious shadow organization we learned about in her intro video
Sombra is heavily implied to be running from an even higher power than herself. So presumably every move she makes is to gain âfriendsâ and favors to cash in when the attention sheâs drawn turns deadly.
Sheâs essentially in panic mode trying to put as many people as she can between her and her inevitable demise.

Lynx 17 is talking to Zarya, you can see that Sombraâs symbol has a connection to Jack so that tells you she has been keeping tabs on him. Not only that, but if you look in her home in Castillio, she has papers of him on the floor. Jack also has been in Dorado for a while messing with the Los Muertos group (from his short) so odds are she knows.
Itâs definitely her. She is playing double agent easy, but what her motivations are is still very unclear.
I honestly wonder if Sombras story arc is really the main Overwatch arc, and not actually Overwatch banding together. To be honest, despite the fact shes such an elusive character, she has quite a bit of lore.
She has had an animated short dedicated to her, and the zarya comic as an extension. Gabriel has said that he knows shes going behind their backs, and as one of the Talon leaders you wouldve thought he would deal with her accordingly.

This is also random but I recall, a loooong while back on his twitter, somebody asked where the aliens were and he responded with âthey are on the moonâ or something and the girl said âwhere?â and he posted a pic of that alien guy with the whacky hair saying âSombraâ sooooâŠI have no idea what that meansâŠunless she has a base on the moon? That or she is an alien lol
Either way, yes, she really has the most lore altogther and imo, is the most unique and knows everything as well as be the one that will be piecing the puzzle together howeverâŠthis was my theory. What if the Iris was actually her? The Iris sees all and knows all, and she does too, what if this was all her doing? Chu said to not trust what Sombra says MULTIPLE times and well, he means it. It means she can be lying about a lot of things. I canât tell which side she is on, but it would be interesting if she herself was the Iris and she made a lot up.
Another theory I have is that she is banding together hero own âteamâ for her own goals since she knows the truth. I feel she may be trying to get Ana and McCree (as seen on her computer) Zarya and Hanzo may also be contenders considering they were in the OWL spray which seems to be legitimate so far to lore (They even have Hanzoâs updated look)

Yes, she blackmails people and gets her hands dirty whenever necessary. It all seems to have begun with a personal issue: Remember her background video where she was hacked by âsomethingâ? That was the reason why Olivia âdiedâ and Sombra âcame to lifeâ. As far as I am concerned, she assumes a huge conspiracy behind the Omnic Crisis and everyone involved. Whoever hacked her back in the days is the entity who Sombra suspects behind the conspiracy (Nobody really knows who or what woke the Omniums up).
Sombra uses her âfriendsâ (e.g. Volskaya) and âemployersâ (Talon) as tools to get to the informations that may lead her to the entity represented by âthe eye symbolâ (god programs? The Iris?). If you look closely, you notice that she is interested in targets involved in the Omnic Crisis: Volskaya is Russiaâs main supplier for war technology and has a âbusiness relationshipâ with the Omnics. Furthermore, she says that she wants to hack Helixâ firewalls when youâre on Temple of Anubis. Why there? Because Anubis is an so-called âgod programâ, closely involved in the Omnic Crisis.
If we assume that it really is Sombra who is supplying Jack with informations about Gabes whereabouts, a plausible motive could be that she knows that Reaper is aware of her little escapades. She might see that as a serious threat, but also knows that she is not going to be able to kill Reaper for several reasons. Maybe she hopes that Jack puts Reaper out of commission for her.
For the actual determination of her motives we have insufficient knowledge I suppose . She could be the seeker of the truth or she already knows the truth and pursues other goals. And if she is really lying a lot as Chu stated, what is then actually true? Could even her background video be a ruse? A fake to distract us and cover her actual role in the lore?
Also her capabilities to gain information and actual knowledge are unclear which may lead to the assumption that she is a âhigher beingâ (Iris). But personally, I wouldnât assume that because it would mean a too radical change in the lore and of Sombraâs role. I donât know if such a plot twist would really be the best for the lore .
About the teaming up: It could be. There is no real evidence that this isnât true. But Sombra might have their information because she likes to have knowledge since she is addicted to hacking.
I always assumed her origin vid had lies in there. I mean, we need to keep watch to what she says ya know? She is super crafty but I love that she makes us think xD To me, she is by far the most interesting character of the game and I love her.
True, people will say âwHeRe wAs tHIs hInTEd???â and then complain it was just thrown in there lol Yeah, itâs so hard to figure out what she is doing but I am leaving all options on the table haha She is smarter than you think and I truly, truly believe that the âSearchingâ comic did NOT give her justice. I am opted to believe she is not that âignorantâ when it comes to giving out info and being found out so easily. It totally determinanted her character imo and she looked like she had no idea what to do (throwing translocator right in front of Zarya and Lynx 17) In Masquerade, even Reaper and Doomfist say they are âon to herâ so if Chu makes her to be this big thing, they better not just make her nothing (to which i doubt haha)
I truly donât believe her name is Olivia Colomar since in Dorado, the flanking route near the festival square leads to a sign that reads translated âColomar Streetâ making me wonder if she took this last name for herself?
i dunno, i still think mccree has something to do with this. i wouldnât rule it out that mccree and sombra are in cahoots at this. sombra knows of mccreeâs sleuthing detective journalist persona, or at least she thinks itâs mccree.

I never noticed that street name xD Might as well check it myself. But even a fake of her real name would be possible. The street name could really have been the inspiration for her name. If her actual name really is Olivia Colomar, the street name might be coincidence or the Mexican government dedicated a street to her (By dethroning the King Viper, she revealed a severe case of corruption which effected the entire state and the people of Mexico. She could be considered a national hero because of that incident). Itâs hard to tell. xD

Yeah haha I just found out recently when playing in a Web Browser Skirmish game and I spotted âColomarâ and I was like âWhaaa?â lol Yes, I thought the same! That maybe they honored that road in her stead for helping the government but I donât know if Sombra is the type to be in âthe spotlightâ for doing something heroic? McCree is definitely, I feel, either investigating Sombra or she is recruiting him for her own gain. Ana may also play a role along with Jack since she also is keeping âtabsâ on them.
She was also there with him (Though I guess not with him) in the Christmas comic a year ago. I have no doubt she knows exactly who he is, and shes keeping tabs on him.
Im thinking that its possible she knows about Echo too. I mean, following him around? Clearly the Christmas comic was actually during Christmas in the ow unvierse, but Im not really sure when the cree cinematic takes place.

I donât get the purpose of revealing her real name. Maybe just for the fans, so they get a hint on Sombraâs actual identity? If it is, then they could have done that in another way, in a monologue or conversation with a close friend from times before Sombraâs âexistenceâ. Hmm⊠Maybe thatâs how Zarya found her real name out! By talking to old acquintances of her in Dorado. Btw, deleting ALL traces of an identity in the internet is a huge effort. Some evidence might be still out there. But even if, what is the advantage in knowing her real name? Olivia Colomar is not existing now for about a decade. Since then she has been everywhere and nowhere, doing a lot and nothing. Sombra was eliminating all traces and leaving nothing but jammed harddrives and cryptic messages. Keeping track of her movements became very difficult and knowing about her little past has no real use anymore since itâs all outdated and not very enlightening .
Imagine her on a stage with a shiny badge attached to her chest, shaking hands with a grinning Mexican politician while the crowd applaudes and makes photos with huge cameras and flashing light. Great picture, huh? No? Doesnât suit her? Exactly my thought. No, she obviously dislikes the spotlight. Such a ceremonial event is definitely not what she would like to attend to (At least not in the center of attention), for her own protection and maybe personal reasons . So, the Mexican government decided to show gratitude by naming a road after her. As simple as that. Who knows?

Technically, the Irisi was the only one who knew. Unless Alejandra and the Bakery girl are her real parents and she lies about being an orphan (maybe to protect them since what she does is mad dangerous) they got the name from Alejandra but that isnât the case since Volskaya knows. Now, knowing Sombra, i feel wouldnât just âgive her name upâ like a fool so either A) Sombra purposely told her for reasons or B) It was forced because of fans.
