Either theres some shennanigans going on here, or some really toxic behaviour caused this girl to run for the hills. Either way, it’s interesting (and pretty cringy). I am curious to see what else will come out of this. We may never know.

It isn’t. But when a streamer is identified through their voice what often follows is a string of racial slurs and obscenities with the intent of getting the streamer banned from Twitch. And if the streamer happens to be a woman one may pepper in misogyny. Another glorious feather in the cap of gamer culture.

Somehow it took me a while to find this thread. It’s not even talked about as much as it frankly SHOULD.
Dafran is a piece of crap. He should have been the one quitting OW in general, as if after his first tantrum it wasn’t clear. But nope, he’s back and WOW he causes another crapstorm, who could have seen that coming?
Degenerate wastes of human biology like Dafran and xQc are given chance after chance to come back, but the moment “OH NOES A GIRL” happens she is forced out with a torrential tide of harrassment.

Yeah hype. Ellie had Jayne offering to have her on his twitch stream, the same stream that has done tons to promote female gamers/casters. I think there is even a female only area on his discord if I remember right. Other female gamers reached out and called out the tween boys who were going a bit too far down the creeper path.
Reach out and grab that brass ring and work the promo, being as I said the end goal of contenders is to make it to the stage in the OWL.
I guess it’s possible that this player in question thought they would cross that bridge when they reached it. So maybe this was just all too much too fast? Still, could have thrown it all back in everyone’s faces with almost no effort.
I guess my knowing a whole lot of maverick women who would love nothing more then to shame the people who claim they can’t do something, I just don’t understand not doing it. If Ellie is who she claims she just walked away from an instant streaming boom along with social media fallows etc.
It’s why I suspect something strange is/was going on.

Haha good luck with that.
On the one hand:
- her boyfriend is a pro, and their hero pools are the same
- there seems to be a delay between her voice making a call after something happens
- she has an alt account, on which she apparently played badly
On the other hand:
- even if this couple is sharing an account, what’s the point of the girl talking into the mic while the dude plays? Twitch monies? Please.
- if they are running some super-elaborate scam, why accept the invitation to OWC, where they would be found out instantly? What do they gain?
Short of tracking down an address and going to look for yourself, you’ll never know for sure.

It’s rather ignorant to say that a person must be fake, if they didn’t go though the gutter before achieving success. Talent can hit anyone, regardless of intelligence, practice, gender, or even age. No one ever heard of former console player DSPStanky, until he uploaded videos of himself climbing 4k+ SR, after only playing on PC for a couple of months. He literally changed Lucio as a hero, and no one had heard of him before that. And that’s just one example. Fame and talent do not always go hand in hand. However, fame and jealousy always does.

Alright fam let’s calm down a sec you’re sounding as toxic as them.
Allegedly she was being harassed and doxxed by multiple people, namecalling Dafran and xQc out of nowhere does more harm than good in this situation.
She is FREE to come back to the Overwatch Pro scene and she is FREE to stand up and prove that she’s in fact who she said she was.
As a girl that’s a big nerd over the Pro scene, it seems too off for her to just vanish like nothing happened, and for her team to do nothing either. Entering the pro scene of any game as a female is a big feat and something girls work for. The whole situation is unprofessional and too weird.
