What is considered abusice chat

Imma get straight to the point, is it considered abusive chat to say, “2 ez 4 me” at the end of match or nah. Because thats the only thing i’ve been saying in match chat, and then i get a warning for abusive chat reports

Well, it seems like many of your fellow players don’t appreciate your behavior. I’d consider a different approach to interacting with others in-game.

I’m pretty sure the system is just going off of the volume of reports. Salty people will use any reason to report you. Try not to give them that reason.

abusice…

Nah but for real, some people DO consider it to be abusive chat because the original, geegee eezee was already blocked by Blizz, so they’d see it as you just trying to get around the filter so you can be toxic.

That OR your comms in team chat have been upsetting others.

Since the report system is automated, and people just act like snowflakes, then yes, it’s considered abusive chat (although it really shouldn’t be)

The rules states: anything that COULD be deemed offensive. So basicly when i press abusive chat on you by their rules you should be banned. It just needs lots of people pressing it.

You can never say a word and get banned for abusive chat. People simply report you for any reason.

Communication

When participating in communication of any kind (chat, voice communication, group finder), you are responsible for how you express yourself. You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others.

Hate speech and discriminatory language is inappropriate, as is any obscene or disruptive language. Threatening or harassing another player is always unacceptable, regardless of language used. Violating any of these expectations will result in account restrictions. More serious and repeated violations will result in greater restrictions.

Refer to Blizzard’s In-Game Code of Conduct

Well the community has a big role in deciding whether it’s abusive or not.
Of course racism and other clear offensive vulgar words are already clear.

Though personal harassement and stuff or saying “ez” (which could mean you’re flaming the enemy team for playing bad) can also be considered abusive chat.

Overall you should just think of the social features as if they should be family-friendly.

Abusive chat is subjective and other players will be the ones to decide what it is.

Heed the warning and be aware of how your behavior might be interpreted by other players.

Alternately: Keep doing what you’re doing, and then it won’t be a problem for much longer, either way!

You are talking to random strangers you meet to play a 10-20 minutes long match. They aren’t your friends and a lot of them have VERY DIFFERENT personalities than yours. If your words can’t provide value to others then keep them for yourself. Especially if there are bad intentions behind them.

Communicating through text chat provides much less context than a real world conversation. They can’t hear the tone of your voice and can’t see your body language. A lot of people are very bad at these things even in real life. Most people are simply bad communicators. For them risking a strong banter with strangers can end up really badly even in real life.

It’s possible to say something really rude in a funny way in real life but it’s difficult to execute well and the message part alone is still simply very rude and offensive in text chat. Besides, if you wouldn’t say something in real life while talking with 5-11 strangers then simply don’t say it online.

DPS has been verbally (textually) abusing the healer the entire match; match ends

Blue DPS: “please report [name of healer] they were throwing”

Red team: complys; uses ‘Abusive Chat’ option

‘Abusive chat’ is whatever you want it to be. It’s automated; all that matters is that someone receives X amount of reports in a relatively short timeframe in order to get actioned.

When it comes to abusive chat, if you have to ask then then answer is yes and you know that already.

It’s whatever anyone wants. There is no rule. The report system is automated so you have to appeal to all 11 other people.

There virtually is no such thing. They even have a profanity filter in game. The report system is the abuse. It’s clearly abused in the game and the overwhelming majority of reports are false reports and since Blizzard is so lazy having an automated banning system that goes by number of reports people can ban the game you payed for just because they don’t like how you play or the hero you play. This is all Blizzards fault. Imagine how corrupt of a system this would be as a justice system for a country.

OWL players: “GG loser”
Blizzard: Hehe, let’s make a video out of this
Normal players: “GG loser”
Blizzard: Ban

*Red TRON reports Blue DPS for abusive chat*

It’s one of the most abusive things to try to single someone out. Organizing mass reports against someone? The Red Team knows nothing about [name of healer] and probably wasn’t abused by the healer in any way. Only controllable/usable people with herd mentality follow someone like Blue DPS.

this isnt abusive if you know the context behind it, when the brackets for May Melee were picked, 1 player from each of the teams that would face off were brought on Watchpoint for a pre-game video conference call, in this video chat dogman was (playfully) trash talking saying his team is the best, getting the hype up and when (i forget which player) mayhem responded by saying something along the lines of “we’ll let the match tomorrow do the talking” dogman responded calling mayhem “loser!” for NOT trash talking …so!!! this is the turnabout from that, and turnabout is fair play!

in short, this isnt abuse, this is just a response to some pre-game hype/spice. the OWL knows the context behind it (and assumes we also know, which we would if we were watching) so thats why they posted the video. the video would be made better by including the clip of the pre game conference call for those that dont get the context but oh well

So we should be allowed to trash talk people who trash talk us first.

yeah, turnabout is fair play in my opinion
