What is considered a "throwing" pick now?

I feel its ridiculous to assume a throw pick. But with that being said, the community knows best, amiright?

So which hero or heroes are considered throw picks?

Well, if you ever see me playing Widow outside of Mystery Heroes, you can safely assume that I am throwing.

I mean, I am terrible with her! :grimacing:

Anyone who is playing a hero intentionally poorly.

That is an obvious type of player. I was referring to those who see certain picks and assume the player is throwing the match

I would say “Throwpick” is when someone picks a hero he doesnt play well. So even if a Mercy Main picks Orisa because the team needs it, its throwing. But thats my opinion.

Well, when half of the Mercy players are OTP, how do you manage having 2 in your team ?

I suppose the question i’d ask then is why couldnt you switch to what the team needs then under that scenario? What if that other person felt they could do better with Orisa in that situation?

I kinda feel picks shouldnt determine an outcome until there are solid results. But thats my 2 cents lol

A “throw” pick is anything you don’t like…

Because in reality there’s no hero who’s bad to the point where they’re literally unusable. Just metaphorically. Also, the very IDEA of a “throw pick” is ludicrous.

You don’t determine throw picks before the match starts. However during the match a throw pick is any pick that is being hard countered or not getting any value out of that a person refuses to switch off of even when they see it’s not working out.

I agree but its obviously a thing in this community

Everyone who is not meta.

With that said, play who you want when you want. No one should dictate which heroes you play on your account.

Honestly, the best thing any team member can do, is look at a pick, and say, how can I support this. Sometimes you will play with a Person that has 90+ hours on Hanzo, and if you support that player, he might just shine for you.

I also agree with this. Problem is, you can no longer insist on playing who you want. I am aware that is circumstantial, as people should be flexible in comp matches. but with that being said, more and more are becoming report trigger happy which are causing people to be suspended or banned for playing a hero they enjoy.

Well we saw that with the top 500 Torb main. And to be honest, both sides are fairly culpable when you look at the argument. Blizzard has tried to get people to realize that while being good at a hero is fine, the game it supposed to be played with a flex attitude and people have really chosen to ignore this. I think it’s the biggest reason Blizzard are so floppy on the issue.

There isn’t one.

There is however, intentionally being disruptive and being an outright bell end.

Unfortunately, most people often do this on torb or Sym. So it kind of associates the two of them as one, sadly.

Eh, it’s up to you. I’ve never been suspended or banned for picking a hero that everyone doesn’t agree with. I have been threatened with reporting, but nothing ever comes out of it. Which is funny cause alot of people on the forums have complained about being banned for picking certain heroes, but I think there’s more to it then they let on.

The most important thing is knowing when the hero you are using isn’t working for the match. If it isn’t working out then you should probably switch.

You can tell which hero’s a throw pick by the amount of people screeching in your team. If you mute them, then no hero’s a throw pick.

yea, those are fair points. There are always more than one side to a story. And people should be flexible.

I don’t think there is one anymore. Maybe attack Sym but those people usually aren’t throwing.
