What is bronze exactly like in competitive?

A lot of people believe that bronze is the worst players ever who doesn’t even know how to play FPS games on pc.

This is not the case anymore.

To all people who are stuck in bronze…

Recently I have seen lots of players who were placed above 2500sr in previous seasons and “smurfing” in bronze elo. Idk if they messed up their placements or whatever, but these “smurfers” definitely have better game sense and mechanics than actual bronze players who probably never played pc games.

Probably I’m just not good enough to climb outta bronze…

Is it actually true that it’s never a thing to climb outta bronze if you don’t have a reliable duo partner?

I have won games under conditions of 6dps, no tanks or supports, insta locks widows who have 0 playtime in both qp and comp, 0 communications, and still stuck in bronze.

Will blizzard fix the ranking systems? (Like create a drop cap that you can’t drop over 1000sr after the placement?)

(Hope the developer team can see this)

ive gotten out of bronze 4 times, solo q, 1vs6 as 76, bronze is still full off bad players.

If you beat bronze players and bronze players beat you, you are a bronze player. Instead of playing, you need to get better. It seems pathetic for me that you try to search for excuses instead of thinking you are not good, you are in the lowest rank for a reason.

Bronze players are terrible at the game. That’s why they are at the bottom. If I play a game like DOTA, I would be terrible at the game and it would take time for me to get good. If you are stuck in bronze, you are making a number of significant mistakes every game that are preventing you from progressing. If you want to put in the effort to actively improve, you will.

High bronze over1k is pretty similar to low silver. However, low bronze sub1k is weird. Its just not the same game down there. Yeah theres a lot of bad players. REALLY bad players. Along with many other things going on.

I can outplay most of bronze but I still fall into it every time I get silver. Dropped from 1950 to 1250 in a few seasons because of placements

Bronze players can be good teammates but people won’t stop talking crap at them for being so low

Bronze is a paradise. You can play what you like, since everyone does it. Mechanically people are braindead and thus you can enjoy farming them with any class you like. Too bad you will win mostly all games in bronze and end up in gold all the time. Since throwing is forbidden there is no way back.

I enjoyed bronze so much :frowning:

I literally have no idea what you are asking in this post. Are you in bronze? Are you saying you got out of bronze?

If you’re in bronze then why are you asking what bronze is like?

If you’re not in bronze, then what are you asking? You seem to know a lot about bronze.

I like posts about bronze. Please write more things.

I’m not sure about the exact number, but this feels like a really god idea to help protect people in the lower ranks. I know a LOT of people who are very curious about Silver/Bronze play-styles, and I’m certain that there are many more out there who are curious enough to actually throw their way down there and ruin games for players down there. No one cares what a plat game looks like, these guys don’t need help keeping their matches balanced, but bronze could probably benefit from a helping hand

I always thought bronze was for those with turd computers, I have realized otherwise for I have multitudes of bronze friends with good computers, I used to run overwatch at 7fps and was stuck in bronze when I got a new computer with 120 fps I am now diamond I got out of bronze in a week and then went to gold then plat within a month. Elo hell does exist a small amount that in you will lose games sometimes at no fault of your own however if you are losing a majority of your games it is because you lack the skills to climb. So in the words of Seagull: “Get Good.”

<500 is such a funny place i keep weating my pants seriously. It’s The only elo where you can still be suprised by other players. As soon as you hit Diamond you get bored ‘cause compositions and ways of attacking/defending are always the same. Where as in <500 guys don’t give a f*** you can witness things you can only see there.

Honestly, Bronze is the best rank. I deranked just to stay in Bronze. Before the hate, let me explain why: It’s hilarious down here. Mostly because a ton of YouTubers do hilariously stupid things in order to get footage for their videos. I’m not down here to get my kicks picking on bad players. This is literally the only thing about Overwatch that entertains me anymore. The things you see down here are absolutely nuts, the games are chill AF, there’s no pressure, and no one cares. I’ve seen nano-boosted Mercys get sextuple kills. I’ve seen Tracers get quintuple kills while blowing themselves up. I’ve seen Zaryas get gravs on all 6 people while an ulting Genji dashed off a ledge by mistake. I’ve seen Reinhardts get knocked up in the air while charging and pin a flying Pharah to a wall. These things shouldn’t happen. In Bronze, they happen lol.

That’s what I want out of OW. Why don’t I play QP? Because the game matches me against sweaty try-hard GMs, and that’s not fun.

Bronze is the place to be if you want to screw around, have fun, and play while highly intoxicated.

Bronze doesn’t mean these players are brain-dead.
Bronze means they don’t have much game sense and rely too much on each other and end losing over and over.

They’ll end up going to Silver / Gold once they start playing well certain heroes.

Bronze noob here.

The biggest thing I noticed about bronze game play compared to high-level game play I’ve watched is the Rock-Paper-Scissors effect is greatly exaggerated in bronze. It seems like Bronze matches are pretty much decided at the hero select screen.

Players down here usually insta-lock and rarely switch during a match. If they are countered, they just spend the whole match getting killed over and over again by equally bad players playing a stronger hero.

The ones that are forced to switch have so little play-time on alts that they end up doing very little work for the team.

I would wager that 10% of my matches have been close calls. The rest have been complete steam rolls by either my team or the opponent’s.

So it’s basically Quickplay with Competitive rewards. Sounds fun.

Bronze is kind of a free for all. You have people purposely placing there for easy CP, smurfs placing there purposely for climbing purposes, people that are just bad since they have little game sense, and people that are trying to climb but having a difficult time. I do have to say though, there is more communication in bronze than I’ve had in Plat.
