Just curious what people consider a whale. Personly i think if you spend more then 200 dollars a season to be considered a whale
Back in my days in MMOs whales were people who spent upwards of $1k regularly lmao
im gonna be the controversial one to say paying any amount of money consistently
Whales are a widely distributed and diverse group of fully aquatic placental marine mammals. As an informal and colloquial grouping, they correspond to large members of the infraorder Cetacea, i.e. all cetaceans apart from dolphins and porpoises. Dolphins and porpoises may be considered whales from a formal, cladistic perspective. Whales, dolphins and porpoises belong to the order Cetartiodactyla, which consists of even-toed ungulates. Their closest non-cetacean living relatives are the hippopotamuses, from which they and other cetaceans diverged about 54 million years ago. The two parvorders of whales, baleen whales (Mysticeti) and toothed whales (Odontoceti), are thought to have had their last common ancestor around 34 million years ago. Mysticetes include four extant (living) families: Balaenopteridae (the rorquals), Balaenidae (right whales), Cetotheriidae (the pygmy right whale), and Eschrichtiidae (the grey whale). Odontocetes include the Monodontidae (belugas and narwhals), Physeteridae (the sprm whale), Kogiidae (the dwarf and pygmy sprm whale), and Ziphiidae (the beaked whales), as well as the six families of dolphins and porpoises which are not considered whales in the informal sense.

The power of Google!
Customer Acquisition. In the world of mobile gaming apps, a whale is someone who spends a significant amount of money on in-game purchases . Since most, if not all, gaming apps nowadays are free to download and play, whales are extremely rare.
A big fish like mammal.
A miserable little pile of secrets.
Itâs kinda hard to âWhaleâ in this game cause Iâm pretty sure you hit a barrier of whats available per season and you cross over with what you already have.
So I m guess âwhalingâ would just be buying like absolutely every new thing?
Tho tbh Iâd say nothing in overwatch could get to like the âTrueâ definition of âwhalingâ youâd need geshin impact and raid shadow legends level of content and ptw content.
for ow⌠idk someone who buys battlepass maxed on day 1? every season
Normally it would be people willing to spend giant sums of moneyâŚ.but you donât see them offering things for absurd amounts of money (like $100 plus which you do see in some other games)
Nah theyre just going after everybody with how the game was monetizedâŚitâs no longer about specifically targeting people with money
God peaked when he designed Odobenocetops and he hasnât dropped anything close since.
Yeah it is unfortunate. Kinda wish I could buy instaqueues and the ability to see private profiles.
Someone who has tons of waifu figures but no wife
Hey, weâre getting closer. Hana019 has finally stopped screaming inexplicably! If I can just harvest some more telomerase I can stop her capilaries from disintegrating.
Yeah⌠that I think puts you pretty solidly in the whale area for OW2.
All those who have spent more than 10k USD.
I think itâs not possible to be a whale in OW2.
This is a whale this is also a whale
Frankly, anything above $50/mo is whaling in my book.
Upwards of $1k/mo is lifeless garbage. They arenât even playing the game. lol
Whales are people who buy everything and anything. So any skin in the shop and most likely all BP levels on day 1.
Not âcontroversialâ, just plain wrong. Whale is an industry term and not a slur that is thrown around. Just because some people devalue the term because they want to be toxic towards people who buy a skin every now and then, does not mean that they are right.
This is pretty much as close as it gets.
Whale = huge amounts of money spend constantly on a game
I think it is more subjective and not a fixed dollar amount, this game i would view a whale as someone you buys the bp and all lvls day 1 and most if not all skins whether they use hero or not, if your not close to that then i wouldnât consider you a whaleâŚ
