What if Widowmaker was 150 HP, but mostly shields?

Well, that’s a pretty good counterargument. So yeah, we can go with the increased falloff.

Also has the benefit of it being an existing mechanic that takes about 5 minutes to patch it in with a hotfix.

This has been proposed on quite a few occasions in the past, but in the current climate of Tracer woes, it might be time to think about such a change seriously.

Now this I could get behind. Finally a good suggestion.

i feel widowmaker should receive buffs in the future or they will probably leave as is

if nerfed again its probably bias. also i feel a rework might happen since devs are “listening” to the community more which is bad imo lol

edit:
found a cool homage widow video -

Just put my guns back to 240 and my Ult back to 400.

The devs feel it’s okay for Tracer to get one-shot by Ashe, Mei, Widow, Torb and Bap crits, and that it’s okay for Tracer to get one-shot by a blue-beamed Cassidy crit, or a blue-beamed body shot from Pharah, Junk, Hanzo and Widow. The list is probably longer.

Okay. Let almost everything one-shot me. But give me a reward for all that risk. Let me be as threatening to my enemies as they are to me. Just 0.5 damage per shot. That’s all I ask.

Widow is one of the few DPS heroes that has over 8 death per 10 min this season in ranked. The only DPS hero dies more is probably Pharah. Wdym “below average death rate”?

Her death rate is high because genji mains exist to end them

And Sombra. Sombra destroys Widow now unless Widow has a Mercy pocket.

That being said, with a Mercy pocket, Sombra can’t make a dent on Widow.

Going back to the main topic, many heroes don’t have shield hp because it doesn’t fit the character design/theme. I was honestly surprised when they added shield hp to Ball. But only a few heroes have shield hp, and that’s for reasons beyond balance.

Parfait, Mes compliments.

Merci bien

:spider: :purple_heart:

yeah, there are a few heros who dont have shield hp that could, and a few who do have shield hp that shouldnt (cough* Lw)…

Is there a benefit to a support to have shield health nowadays, considering that they all heal up automatically through their passive?

She would be completely and utterly annihilated by Ball/Tracer/Sombra/Genji even more so than she already is… I like the idea of more solo type heroes having a bit of a buffer, but I don’t see this going well for her

Calling widows hook out of Jail card is a joke

Then it shouldn’t make any difference if it gets nerfed to break when Widow takes damage.

Assuming you’re being honest.

Of course, it still makes a difference if he is weakened again.

Why shouldn’t it make a difference?

Nevertheless, it is absolutely not the same as a skill like Fade. Which really is an out of jail ability

Well, it might as well be he we’re comparing it to the TF2 Sniper.

Which is kept in check, by being extremely weak at surviving close range 1v1 duels.

I’m not experienced enough with TF2 to make an informed judgement, but is it not a sufficiently different paradigm, gameplay wise, to make any such comparisons rather moot?

Yes, mostly, TF2 and OW have pretty significant similarities but mostly OW heroes have more complete kits than their TF2 “counterparts”.

As for OP i think both snipers could get some redesigns to get away from one shotting, i dont think just changing Widow’s HP total does much to help that though.

I’m thinking something a bit more complicated.

no xD but it adds 25 hp to him, making him take 3 slashes from blade, so thats cool
