Okay hear me out, what if we all collectively used our brains and stopped shooting at her bubble. I’m curious to what would happen to her if everyone stopped shooting her. Her whole gimmick is that shooting her bubble makes her stronger, so by not shooting her bubble she will remain weak forever.
So if everyone started doing this would she get buffed? Would she get a rework?
What if we had a world with no wars, no homelessness, and no starvation.
Look dude, if Zarya gets full power in Champion ranks, is it because everyone in Champion isn’t using their brain?
She’s going to get charged. The trick is whether you let her live long enough to use it.

So sometimes the right thing is to not shoot at the bubble. And other times the right thing is for everyone to just burn the Zarya bubble and all. The problem is that nobody seems to know when to do which.
At the start of the fight, it’s best to ignore her and not shoot bubbles. You count bubble uses. On the third bubble, everyone should focus the heck out of her. Especially if you have a Bastion you do eventually want to burn the bubbles. You just don’t want to do it at the start when instead you can focus her supports or DPS.

Wait for your reaper to die to Zarya, to attempt a push.
That’s probably where the initial charge comes from hehe

I believe bursting down Zarya is more logical. My teammates seem to agree, but only when her bubbles are up.

Shooting the zarya bubble isn’t something you can entirely avoid, especially with projectile heroes, turrets, and AoE, and isn’t something you should entirely avoid, as not shooting her bubbles ever is why most low ranked players think she’s broken when in reality she’s one of the worst tanks in the game.
There are times where you shouldn’t shoot her bubbles (for example obvious energy bait bubbles where she jumps around the corner at your whole team while remaining close to said corner so she can back out if needed or if she’s only a little out of position but has a bubble to spare, but there are also many times where you absolutely should burn those bubbles ( like if she is grossly mispositioning, is walled off, has just been hooked, or she only has one bubble in reserve and not a lot of team support, or even if she has both bubbles but you really want her to just fall over and not be able to play the game )
Overall bubbles are best burst on a case-by-case basis, but it is helpful to
A. count bubbles
and
B. call out to your team when Zarya is vulnerable and to focus on her
in order to more reliably melt her.
As you play against ( and with ) more Zaryas you will get a sense of when it is a good time to do this, but teammates ( especially lower ranked ones ) may need a bit of encouragement.
100 energy doesn’t matter if she dies half a second later.

She would have 4.5 seconds of free shooty time to kill you with her 95 DPS at 0% charge…
and that’s not even considering her using her bubbles in tandem with her health, nor does it account for her Supports healing her. This is just her being really dumb and wasteful with her bubbles and still getting 427.5 damage out before she’s mortal again.
That is not fun at all. You are a party pooper
This is the answer.
Ignoring Zaryas bubble isn’t always the answer. If Zarya or another likewise vital target is low - blow through the bubble and secure the elimination. It’s not always bad to just to brute force it.
What to do and why requires context.

How about Blizzard learns how to create fair and balanced gameplay instead of their brilliant ideas like “don’t shoot someone in a game about shooting others”

Exactly, a good Zarya can effectively bait damage and use bubble to make the most of it. Typically it’s easier to get charge if you use bubble while all already taking spam health damage.
It’s not necesarilly just players trying not to shoot the bubble, it’s the Zar’s job to predict and “catch” incoming spam damage.
Indeed. I hate the fact that the community just accepts this false narrative that Zarya counters Junkrat… If you burst both bubbles in a second or 2 she has literally lost all of defense and can be burnt down, especially if you catch her out of position based on her false sense of security thinkning she has bubbles to use freely.
Smart Zarya won’t bait for energy with herself anyway, it’s a desperation tactic. She will bubble some kind of Genji or Sombra shooting enemies in the gut.
If you are at 0 energy, you either walk into spam or you hope for someone to go in and you bubble that player.
