What if mid season patch fail again

Any chance to get a new lead designer?

They just got the capacity to do multiple balance patches per day last Monday.

But they are going to be on vacation for for next 3 weeks.

But after that, I expect a lot more patches, with smaller changes, more often.

Yeah, they have the capacity to do useless thing.
I am well-aware of that

Being able to patch the game in 2 hours, instead of 2 months, isn’t useful?

Lead designers aren’t cheap to hire nor get them acquainted to a game, even microsoft google have failed patches often.

Why would you want someone to loose their job for something so trivial as a patch being delayed.

the thing is there patching isnt the worst, the sojourn buff was hilarious but atleast there first “mid” season patch actually did what it was meant to do. (most of the overwatch 1 patches never did what they sought out to do)

ill sit here and complain about how incompetent they are all night long but they did do atleast one good thing recently and it was push out a quick fix for the season 2 patch.

ive played this game for 6 years and its very rare for them too patch something within a week and a half.

if they do that the next time we have a problem then we’ll be fine

That’s a lot of hope for the track record thus far. Very very very little is worth having faith from the balance team.

You might think so. However, unless their system is radically different from Call of Duty (owned by Activision as well), they should be able to push out “Hot fixes” that adjust numerical values… which is what most balance patches are.

They should have always been able to do that without needing to do a full update that has to go through Microsoft and Sony. Their desire to patch once or twice every couple months isn’t because of technical restraints. It’s by choice.

They had the tech to do this in Overwatch 1, heck, I was actively spamming Jeff/Craig about 3 years ago, and then it got put into the game 3 months later.

It’s not really that complicated, however it got broken in the transition to OW2 for some reason.

And they only got it working this last week.

Dont mix Balance Patch and Bug Fixing Patch Together

Been saying it a while, Alec needs to go.

Not a patch being delayed, the patchnotes have been atrocious, meaning they’re not all that good at their job.

Yep, people are missing the point.
The balance team clearly showed incompetence at balancing the game.
They said they have a hotfix tool to do fast update and modify the numbers.
Why take so long to adjust SOJOURN numbers?
if one shoot is a problem, why they dont see roadhog as a problem beforehand?
They have statics, win rate correlation between hero, team composition.
They can predict things and shape the meta and balance it.
Support is a big problem. They admitted.
moreover, what is the point of saying this?
Showing the incompetence to the players?

Are you kidding me?
What is the point of keeping a incompetent employee?

Why not? That’s literally what they are doing.

Bill Warnecke, Why Hotfix Balance Patching took till Dec 12

I have no opinion on technical side.
I have opinion on Balance side.
Balance Team fail to address the problem and show incompetence in dev’s comment.
Giving 5 ammo to mercy to help support?
Noted SOJOURN can one shoot people but failed to realize roadhog one shoot problem?

If giving 5 ammo to mercy can help mercy to defend herself,
I think giving mercy infinite ammo can make her immortal.
Right?
WTF is this logic.
You call this competent?

i sure hope so, the game’s current balancing is really bad

Alec Dawson ain’t it. This game has been made worse every patch thus far. Everything out of whack and at this point just want OW1 back. The content is not worth it.
