so the idea would be that you get to ban heroes you don’t want to play on your team
so with the heroes I like to play, there are certain heroes that I don’t care for on my team
banning heroes on your team or on the enemy team have very different aims and goals
thank you
So lets say I got to ban, I wanted to play Rein Zarya, I could just flat out ban mercy or other healers/tanks that I wouldn’t want? That would probably lead to more toxicity if you end up banning heroes your teammates main/want to play.
Unless I misunderstand the post, in which case do correct me.

so I guess the way that it would work is that you pick a handful of heroes that you want to play, and then you just wouldn’t get matched up with people who didn’t want those heroes you picked on their team
it may divide matchmaker up too much, but I thought I’d throw it out there
So you’re talking about role lock? People choice the roles they want to play and are matched with people who play the other roles they didnt pick
no, like I would ban Mei and Sym, but I wouldn’t mind it if I had 6 DPS on my team
Mei is half tank and half DPS. If someone picks Mei, the off tank better go Hog. and we better get some Mobility while we’re at it with the other picks.
Mei is awesome, I just don’t want her on my team lol
‘You are good but I don’t want you on my team’
You not making much sense. Haha
Guess that leaves me going Sombra…

it’s because I’m skeptical, I’ve seen Mei’s carry my games, and I’ve seen them do nothing, I don’t want to take the chance, same with Sym.
I think of Mei a lot like most think of Bastion. She needs the team to work around her.
Well… that’s the problem of hidden profiles.
If a guy has 100hrs on Mei, I’m sure you would let him go Mei. If a guy has 10hr on genji with 5 final blows, gg I guess.
you have a right to hide your profile, but I should have the right to avoid you in the matchmaking queue
Not gonna lie, if someone on my team purposely banned my character not because they didn’t want to face the character but because they didn’t want me to play it, I’d be tempted to soft throw and play Genji out of spite.

That would eliminate the whole point of hero bans
The point of it is to force people to play a different way, this would make metas more diverse and one tricking less common.
no, you wouldn’t even be matched with that player in the first place
nothing wrong with one tricking
I’m not a fan of hero bans. I want individual hero sr. You should be able to rank up with Mei, then play widow
Individual hero sr would promote one tricking beyond anything else they could possibly do. And yes, one tricking is an issue. Maybe not as big as people make it out to be, but not being able to play literally any other hero at the sr you’re currently at is a major crutch to your team
it’s okay to purchase 50 copies of overwatch and only ever play Ana on each and everyone of those accounts, you will never change my mind on this matter
If that were to happen I would never be able to play my main Sym while i can play other characters i willl highly be tempted to throw out of spite by going a dps i dont play like widow or something
like I said, you would choose that you wanted to play sym among other heroes, I would choose not to have a sym on my team…we would never me matched together on the same team
Lets be realistic here Ive been a Sym main since season 3 Ive gone throught all kinds of hate and even now people continue to complain about her in the spawn room so more often than not almost everyone will ban Sym
Jeff wants us to control our experience. Believe me, I know the pain. I love playing bastion and the hate is real. Might as well let the haters avoid me, no?
Sure but how many people are gonna look at the roster and ban bastion over Sym, Mei, Torb, Moira especially when bonker comp is a thing
