counterplay is born

Sure, why not? Better than the self stun.

That is a good idea.

I’m with Seraph with this.

I’m always surprised heroes yell before they do an attack or skill. It’s more like “Run from my Ult!” or “Counter me, I’m going to attack now!”

Sombra: *Sneaks in stealth *
“Been here all along! Here I am, shoot me here!” :stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer counterplay to realism

Who is this suppose to help?

it’s meant to counter the out-of-nowhere slam uppercut combo

Is the invisible slam uppercut combo viable against a roadhog as it is a Zen?

I thought he already did this?
With subtitles on, I can notice when he’s charging up rocket punch and sometimes hear the sound from it if I’m close enough.
Don’t think it’d be too useful after the slam, because chances are you’re already dead

It’s meant to counter the rooftop hover 125 slam into rocket to get out

Is that slam as viable against a Roadhog as it is a Zen? Is the slam counter by being aware of where the Doomfist is?

No i prefer real counterplay

It wouldn’t matter.

I mean people claim that he currently “punches you out of nowhere”

I mean the man basically screams

And people still think “Maybe I should peek him right now” and get smashed into a wall behind them.

Maybe you just can’t help yourself when you’re doing such crazy stuff. Kinda like yelling kamehameha. Don’t need to, but maybe you just have to yell something when firing stuff out of your hands.

You can even have some fun with it!

You can already hear the uppercut and fist charging up from a country away. Why not

Give him a Terry Crews voice pack and have him just shout “Powa!” on all skills. :joy:

I am all about it. It helps with knowing what things are on cooldown and saves you from the oneshot (maybe) if youre fast enough.

And no. is not viable against a roadhog. but he’s not meant to be if hook is off cd.

This is the problem I have with these types of threads. People love to pretend like the weaknesses of a few are universally applicable to the entire roster.

Characters with high health pools like Hog aren’t getting combo’d by Doomfist the same way a Zen is.
Characters with mobility like Tracer or phase abilities like Moria aren’t getting combo’d the same way a Sym is.
Characters with CC like Ana or Mccree have more of a fighting chance against Doomfist than someone like 76 does.

So you suggest changes that everyone can capitalize on while ignoring whether it’s fair for DF or whoever might be the flavor of the month.

When are you going to suggest changes to Hammond that makes his matchup vs Zen fair? When are you going to do it for Winston?

You won’t, because it has nothing to do with a lack of counterplay.

This is something he should have regardless. Getting silently yolo-slammed from some rooftop is the most frustrating part about Doomfist’s kit, which is completely frustrating overall. That’s saying something.

That’s dumb adding a decent sound cue adds more counterplay to skilled people:

Giving people a small warning before a move that sets up kills is a good thing. Bad players will still miss that warning
