If you crouched on any hero whose gun has spread it would reduce the spread by 20% like other FPS. This includes tanks (D.va, Wrecking Ball, Orisa, Hog) and also dps (Tracer, Sombra, Echo, Reaper, Bastion). Dva + WB would need a crouch animation
Would that be a nice change for allowing more skill expression and higher risk (losing base movement speed) higher reward (more accurate gun)?
As if there lot of spread? Its not counter strike, most guns are lasers of some sort

Changes like these don’t really have a place in the game in my opinion because they aren’t intuitive. The developers of this game have always made conscious choices to ensure that a brand new / very casual player could pick up any given hero and understand how it works (at least on a basic level). Anything that detracts from that is usually not put in the game.
It is intuitive. Many other fps games offer weapon spread reduction while crouching, and the current crouch mechanic we got is mostly used to mask audible footsteps on some heroes when going for a surprise attack / flank or to try and dodge spam abilities which has a RNG chance of succeeding as those spam abilities landing on you and that’s it. Giving it more purposes is not a bad thing

Oh how I’d love for dva’s mech to have the ability to tactical crouch. She’s supposed to be the toxic gamer girl yet she can’t even do the one classic thing that gamers do
Games with spread reducing crouchs usually have that because crouching slows the character to a crawl (literally) and they use a lot of inertia/movement acceleration, meaning crouching is a choice, a true extension of skill, a trade off, but in Overwatch it would just be abused as a mechanic.
Why should weapon-spread even exist in the first place? Such an awful way of handling aiming.
I really like it as a concept. I’m not sure I like it on the heroes you mentioned. I would like to see it on Soldier, Tracer and Sombra. If I am not mistaken those are the three heroes with handheld autofire weapons.
Compensations would need to be made, but… theoretically…
Soldier could increase his utility as a ‘soft turret’ and Tracer and Sombra could increase their utility as assassins.
This is a great idea, solely because they’d finally have to add crouching for Dva. The ability to teabag in mech is worth having 3 sneaky DPS get broken levels of ez surprise kill potential.
I don’t know… I feel like it would get weird. Plus some characters couldn’t even make use of it. Dva can’t crouch in mech. Mei, mccree, ana, hanzo, soldier, junkrat, pharah, bastion turret, etc. A lot of them couldn’t make use of it. Who all even can crouch and has spread?
It will just make the game more clunky and slower. This game doesn’t need to be realistic. Crouching already has its uses without the need of a buff.

We don’t need longer-range damage in this game. Soldier got his spread removed and now he’s the strongest DPS in the game.
IDK about that one chief. Cree is definitely the most consistent and powerful damage hero. And a stun to counter a large variety of abilities and heroes.

I don’t think this would be good as a general change across the entire game, but maybe on a character like Sombra specifically. I would propose that instead of crouching though she would have the ability to use two hands on her gun to reduce spread which would prevent her from using her Hack ability until you go back to one hand.
Maybe some other heroes could function in similar ways, but the only characters that would need it such as Bastion, Tracer, Ball and D.va would be too overpowered without their spread.
