What if Cass could roll mid Deadeye?

Kinda the same treatment Moira got with Coalescence, but also i think it prolly would be fair to also refund Roll on activation since Deadeye is so bad rn.

And i also feel like Roll needs full on invincibility instead of 75% dmg reduction, but one thing at a time ofc.

Dodging sleep/rock/punch/etc while continuously charging up deadeye is scary.

Which is probably why it won’t happen.

Well yeah that was kinda the inspiration behind the idea, i feel like its currently wayy too situational, at least having the possibilty to dodge things with a tiny roll with no invincibility should make it at most a still worse Visor imo and Visor aint much to right home about.

Not an unreasonable suggestion.

I like it. That actually sounds really cool. As a Mei player the idea that I could wall McCree off and he just rolls and shoots anyway is scary. But for McCree players, that sounds really heckin cool, dodging sleeps and hooks, then going off.

If it reset the targeting reticle it’d be fine. Otherwise it’d basically be like giving Dva bomb a
3 second stealth.

What if instead Cassidy just got a buff to his damage? Illary deals more damage than him as of now.

I am not fully against it as this does appear to be the direction they are taking Cassidy. Not a huge fan overall, but it makes sense and would add some fun moments to the game, I suppose.

just give him a zarya bubble at this point, already has more health and dmg reduction

is her range better than his or is it that hitscan width that makes her feel like she does more consistent dmg, im a lot more conservative taking a duel against illari than cass at this point.

What, no need really, i understand you’re using hyperbole there but Deadeye is not even remotely as strong as D.va bomb, nor is Rolling 6m for 0.5s comparable to 3s stealth even, when Roll’s likely best feature is that it quickly reloads, you start to see how small of a buff that really is. (and you’d be losing that when using mid Deadeye)

They tried that, upping his range, he felt too strong and also too similiar to Ashe and other hitscans, i think they should instead buff his survivability, he probbably has one of the worst survivability in the whole cast.

Well, giving it a Roll reset on activation is basically that sometimes i feel.

Goes perfectly well with the Gambler skin.

Imo he should just get completely new ultimate. As it is now it’s very counterable but imagine if it wasn’t… autoaim one shots with infinite range? No thank you. It’s useless because how easy it is to stop in practice. If you remove the weakness of being easy to stop then it will be incredibly frustrating ultimate to go against.

Imo he should get something similar to Sojourn where his ult just increases potency of his gun a lot. Making it aim dependant ultimate. Maybe some sort off snowballing ult where he gets more damage for short amount of time on elimination, gets temporary life steal making him a lot more tanky if he lands shots, idk something lol. Deadeye is just a design made around his cowboy theme and sucks in practice.

He could also get ult based on grenades like we see in the cinematic where he throws entire belt of grenades and shoots them. So probably similar to Ashe TNT but much stronger and bursty

Thing is though is that there currently is way too many counters, interrupts, damage mitigation in general, just literally going to cover, just focusing him and killing him, pressuring him out in general b4 he can even use it, etc, so i think at least being able to counterplay one or two sometimes should be reasonable.

But i also kind of agree that its design is also just plain boring and if they could make it into something more interactive/skillfull i’d be down for it too, though at the very least if you could roll while on Deadeye, it would at least make it slightly more skillfull to use and y’know, it takes way less time to implement.

If i had to rework it somewhat, i’d limit the range to his fall-off and make it so aiming at someone’s head doubled the charge speed, plus the roll reset, kinda like Dragonblade, it would reward skill a bit more.

I would have to think about a decent and unique replacement though, maybe actually give him that mecha horse? lmao, Dk how to tie it with his gunslinger motiff better than some sort of Deadeye variant.

Nothing in the game relies on headshots to do stuff, seems like a too harsh requirement for an ult. Thematically appealing but to be honest it would probably have to be super rewarding for headshots to make it worth. Cass already kills people easily if he lands dinks from time to time. Imagine if your ult would depend on landing headshots or it wouldn’t do anything. Pretty trash ult, no? Way too inconsistent.

Unlimited range however could easily be a part of new ult. Deadeye means you are super accurate right? So sniper Cass it is.

There is actually, Tactical Visor allow for headshots, if you aim for it, it would be on the same veins of that btw.

It would still auto aim and charge the shot damage, it would just be doubled if you aimed at an specific target’s head + a bit faster charge (something like 20 or so more DPS, maybe, plus the roll buff) since it would be on a pretty limited fall-off range.

It already had unlimited range at some point, now it has 200m (basically a whole KOTH/Control map btw) i think having it have so much range is not the right way to go, since Cass cant even play on these ranges anyways, it just clashes completely with his positioning, i think it should be most effective at close-medium range, where he plays.

Well it doesn’t matter now that it has unlimited range, because when he is ulting he is barely moving. If you could move normally it would absolutely be a powerful feature. Cass even with 25m range felt a lot more threatening, imagine if he could snipe Widow on Havana.

Rework Deadeye and give Cassidy two revolvers!
