I still think the easiest way to re-use 2CP maps without any type of restructuring maps would be to make the first point a capture point, and the second point is something like capture the flag where you have to take a flag or item from point A to the final point.
That way you could use the maps the same way they are now with very minimal programming so the second point could be a capture the flag type point.
Teams can use various routes to the second point because they are carrying a small item not a huge payload.
And you would be able to capture the the flag/item once you get to the capture area and there are no enemies around.
You say that, but then we get things like that (now fixed, I think) Ilios Ruins block that was climbable from the spawn side on only one side of the map. Also the objective boundaries are all kinds of messed up, watch the KarQ video on them if you haven’t already.
Kinda like how Pvz garden warfare/battle for neighborville does it
But they have some special mode for the last one
Like one map you have to move mirrors to let the zombie yeti out
Hire this man already Blizzard.
i feel like 5CP could cause issues with map duration.
If the first fight is a stomp, you have no way to come back, and the enemy will snowball, ending the map in 1-2 minutes.
If the team are very equal, the match could also last ages.
Oh god no. 2cp is long as is, 5cp will have way longer matches. I know what inspired you, but TF2 has completely different everything. On the other hand, backcapping as Sombra would be fun.
Pretty nice. Reminds me of frontlines from the BF franchise which is a pretty popular mode in that game.
Well originally I was thinking of 5CP maps on TF2.
Never played TF2 sadly.
Not sure how it was in TF2 but in BF frontlines games tend to last a very long time. I remember one match I played literally lasted like 2 and a half hours lol. I’m sure it would be different with only 10 players but so many objectives in a linear path usually makes for long matches.
I was about to say, wasn’t this the 5CP people used to talk about all the time, it’d be a cool seasonal event to try this at the very least which could function as an experimental of a sort
